It does prevent liquid from getting to my phone, it is a very clean design and I am able to access all touch screen and side buttons with complete ease - just one problem - it is a pain to get the phone in and out of the pouch.The phone sticks to the sides as the pouch grips your phone. After a little while it is finally inside and I can lock the latches on top. Same thing taking it out. I almost want to throw some flour in their to help it slide easier.Anyway, aside from that I absolutely love this pouch.
