I find that the hard teflon cooking utensils tend to scratch my cookware, but this spoon is a wonderful durable, soft-ish silicone, which is easy on the pans. It doesn't stain, cleans up easily, has a wonderful handle that allows hanging it over the side of the frying pan. I really love that I can lay it down flat & the bottom of the spoon bowl does not touch my countertop or get it goopy! The flat bottom edge is perfect, as it makes it easy to scrape the bottom of pan, so food doesn't stick. I just bought one for my son, who's a chef, and he loves it for his home cooking too!
