Very pleased with the 'meatier' comfort with this mat compared to your 3mm,4mm and even 5mm thick ones. I'm a fan of Gaiam mats, but once you get into this thickness, you may pay more, especially if you want a cute, unique looking one. I bought this solely base on 3 things: Cuteness, Thickness, and Price-ness.Got this mat for my mom, who's in her 50's, and has done lots of yoga over the years. This is perfect for her skill in yoga, and also much more comfortable than other yoga mats. Not that I don't like the big, cushy, 8mm and up mats. They are great too, especially for doing sit-ups, but that thickness is when you get into the 'exercise' mat arena, which can be awkward with some yoga moves and on hardwood floors. Especially if you're buying in this price range.Overall, for the price this is great for it's thickness. Sure there are more quality ones that can give you more overall 'love', but we're talking 50 to 70 dollars here. No damages that my mom has inflicted on it so far when we go to yoga. Just make sure you wipe/wash down your mat before you use it the first time (like all mats). Don't spray it with harsh cleaners either, and make sure you DRY your mat before rolling up so you don't the 'crumbles' like some people complain about.The only downside is that I think the picture looks just a tad bit better than the actual print on the mat. The flowers look a bit different. I wish this seller had a zoom button for their listing of this mat, so we can see the bump details that mats tend to have, but oh well, I expected that anyway.
