It provides the options to watch DVDs, listen to regular audio CDs, listen to MP3 formatted audio CDs, watch over the air TV stations, and play music and video directly off of a USB drive or SD card. The picture is brilliant and vivid, and the audio is exceptional for a player this size. The form factor is much like that of a small laptop or Chromebook, so it’s easy to carry around, with a flip-up screen that also swivels. You can also use this device to output to a larger TV for times when you want to watch on a bigger screen.There are several included accessories: a power cord that lets you plug in to charge the unit’s internal battery and watch on AC power, a 12-volt car cord for use in vehicle power point/cigar lighter style outlets, a cable that converts the mini-phone plug AV output to traditional “RCA” plugs, an antenna, and a remote control. I wish instead of providing the antenna as an accessory that they would have just built an antenna into the unit itself, but it’s not that big a deal because you’ll probably need to use a better antenna anyhow to get decent over-the-air reception. (With a $10 set of rabbit ears I got 20 channels at my location about 40 miles from these stations. The antenna that came with this unit only got 3. So spend a few bucks on a better antenna if you want to watch over-the-air stations.) Of course you don’t need to mess with any kind of antenna to use the unit as a mobile DVD player, which is probably why most people will buy it.This is a very worthy little video player and well worth the money. Remember this is for basic over the air TV. This TV has ability to accept SD cards as well as DVD player. I have found the reception reliable results depend on the distance from TV transmitter. Also type of building. I have found set up easy reliable. This TV isnt for deep firinge areas you would need a antenna for that. It can accept external antenna. For what it is this TV can reliably pull in most TV channels. I'm very satisfied with the TV performance.I love this little TV. So as a alternative to streaming you don't have to pay for data just free over the air TV. It is ATSC 1.0. It's display is clear and bright. Don't expect it to be perfect but for small television it's very good. The buttons are very small and must be pressed more than once to function properly.Coaxial cable designed for domestic television should be 75 Ohm, with RG-6 coaxial being ideal for TV. This is important because the type of Coaxial cable used will determine how many channels you will receive. Therefore do not use RG-59 Coaxial cable.
