A simple mixture of banana, peanut butter, and a bit of yogurt blended, poured in, and frozen for 2 hours provided a great distraction for him and (hopefully) made his mouth feel a bit better. From frozen chicken broth and veggies to carrot and sweet potato puree, there are many healthy and inexpensive home-made fillings that can be used for this treat holder.As with all pet toys, your dog should be supervised while chewing this. Ours has yet to show signs of wear, but when it does it will be time for a replacement. I would not recommend using this as a chew toy. Similar concept as the KONG, but not as thick. The dogs were able to chew a larger opening into the bottom of the bear. I heard you can fill and freeze for a cool treat for your dogs in the summer, which I did. It's hard for them to get to the bottom of the bear, and then it's hard to clean out since the hole is so small. In hindsight, the hole they chewed was actually helpful in getting to the bottom since the hollow part is so large. We still have and use occasionally, but this is not the go-to treat for us.
