I have tried regular bug spray but feel like nothing is stopping the biting flies from getting us.** A: Yes, It does work with biting flies. **Q: Does this repel small flying mites?** A: If you mean, the biting gnats we sometimes get, then yes but I’m not familiar with flying mites. We might not have them in CA. **Q: Does it leave any type of feel or film on the skin? Most bug sprays leave a sticky feel or a film (and smell) until I wash it off.** A: I don't perceive a film 9n the skin but the scent is not pleasant. I suppose,this comes down to what bothers you more--the insect bites and associated discomfort or the smell. This stuff works on me so far this year. Hint: apply to clean skin.
