Ensure your Wire Diameter 20AWG /0.34~0.54 mm2 (exclude silicon wire) and without stripping wire. 3. Need to peel off the silicone on the surface of led lights when you want to connect WATERPROOF LED strip light. DIY Strip to Wire Quick Connection Updated version of LED strip connectors, assemble wire by yourself as needed, flexible to different project! No need to solder. Just clasp your prepared led strip section into the connector to get connected. Connect waterproof LED strip need to peel off the silicone on the surface, compatible with 30-120 LEDs/M strip, made of flame retardant material, safely use. Support high current LED strip lights. Review: These are ones I am using from now on - Much better than other connectors that bend the led tape when trying to slip it in. These clamp. The only issue I had was undoing the connector when I got polarity wrong. It’s pretty hard to pop it loose.
Review: Works, but requires some fiddling - These connectors do work, but they require a bit of coaxing to get them there. To begin with, i was using waterproof LED strips, and while this should be able to accommodate that, it didnt. The prongs that puncture the bottom of the LED contacts do not always make a solid connection for reliable power supply to the lights. I found I needed to separate the 2 parts of the connector (clear and black pieces), strip the silicon (waterproofing) from the LED strip (just enough to fit a non-covered portion into the connector - maybe 1/4") then puncture the leads in reverse before flipping it over and putting it in 'correctly'. I would use a toothpick or something similar to ensure that the strip was punctured on the prongs before flipping it over and again using a toothpick to ensure the leads on the LED strip made a solid connection with the prongs of the connector. I would then strip the power wire and lay it in the slots on the other side. Finally i would re-attach the clear top of the connector and ensure all 6 clips 'click' closed with some pliers before testing the connection. Again, a little more effort than I had hoped to get these to work reliably, but if you can put in the extra effort, these little things are great.

**Q: The description states "not dimmable".  If I have led light strips that are rated dimmable, why won't this connector work?**
A: It is the led strip lights that are dimmable or non-dimmable. The connectors just connect the light strips and wires.

**Q: Why does it say NON-Waterproof, but then references Waterproof in Features?**
A: Hi! Kindly let you know these connectors are ideal for 2pin 8mm Non-waterproof strip light. But you can also connect to the Waterproof strip lights just need to peel off the silicon covered on the surface around soldering line area. Sorry that the description may have caused you misunderstanding.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works, but requires some fiddling

These connectors do work, but they require a bit of coaxing to get them there. To begin with, i was using waterproof LED strips, and while this should be able to accommodate that, it didnt. The prongs that puncture the bottom of the LED contacts do not always make a solid connection for reliable power supply to the lights. I found I needed to separate the 2 parts of the connector (clear and black pieces), strip the silicon (waterproofing) from the LED strip (just enough to fit a non-covered portion into the connector - maybe 1/4") then puncture the leads in reverse before flipping it over and putting it in 'correctly'. I would use a toothpick or something similar to ensure that the strip was punctured on the prongs before flipping it over and again using a toothpick to ensure the leads on the LED strip made a solid connection with the prongs of the connector. I would then strip the power wire and lay it in the slots on the other side. Finally i would re-attach the clear top of the connector and ensure all 6 clips 'click' closed with some pliers before testing the connection. Again, a little more effort than I had hoped to get these to work reliably, but if you can put in the extra effort, these little things are great.

This is a “I never write reviews” review, but I’m hoping I can save someone some aggravation since I did everything wrong to start with and had to learn the hard way. 1) Open both sides of the clips as wide as they’ll go (which is probably wider than you think) before you try to use them. If you don’t, it’s easy to accidentally close both sides when you’re just trying to close one, and this will make you sad because opening them after they’re snapped shut is NOT FUN. 2) Peel back the 3M tape from the lights before you insert them in the clip. This is probably one of those things everyone but me knows, but I’m throwing it out there. 3) Double check the polarity before you insert the wires into the other side of the clip. Again, reopening these things IS NOT FUN. (I found it was easier to insert the tape first and then the wires, but it doesn’t really matter as long as you’re careful to keep +/- straight.) 4) Do NOT strip the wires before inserting them in the clip. They will not stay in the clip properly if they’ve been stripped, and the resulting weak connection might make you say bad words as you try to figure it out. The clip will pierce the wires sufficiently without stripping, and the resulting connection will be the better for it. What I found (again, after doing all these things wrong) is that if you do these things RIGHT, the clips work perfectly and are worth every penny. I haven’t tried soldering, but given how teeny tiny the connections are on the led tape I was using, I think my middle-aged eyes and dexterity are better suited to the clips.
