The lid does clip on if done carefully.MICROWAVING - In the centre of one of the lids I've made 2 small holes with the prongs of a carving fork, so that it can be fitted when microwaving without exploding or distorting. The inner surface of the bowl has not yet been affected by the heat of slightly oily food, but it's early days and I have not used it in sessions longer than 5 minutes.Tomatoes and carrots (so far) will faintly stain the white plastic but I'm not bothered by that, and the staining does fade with repeated washes if one doesn't cook the offending items again for a while.
