Good value for a quality product
This product is exactly as pictured. It is important to note that it needs separate adhesive despite its tape-like appearance. This can be used on its own as insulation or in partnership with heat-tape cables. I recommend this product as it is better quality than what I've found in stores.

Perfect width for my camera housing
Thermal barrier works well. The photo shows the housing (colder blue) with the lens heater on (hot red and white areas around lens).

Doesn't stick to the pipe or to itself
The adhesive is very weak, to the point where it peels off from my pipe within minutes. I'll need to find some other product since this one can't be relied on.

Stops those annoying leaks
Works as intended. Easy to install and no more cold drafts coming through around my door.

Pipe Insulation
Recently the pipe insulation from my AC unit to the outside wall had become brittle and was in need of replacement. This Frost King stuff seemed like it would be an affordable replacement. The tape is thick and wraps easily around pipes. However, the foil rips easily just like other foil would - use caution when wrapping. One big negative is that the sticky side doesn't hold well. I ended up having to use a piece of duct tape to secure it.

Great adhesion and insulation
We moved in to an all-electric townhouse recently, and I felt the pain of that all-electric setup when I got the $300 electric bill for our first month there! So, I was on an immediate mission to save energy wherever I could. One of the things I noticed was that both the intake and output pipes on the electric water heater were hot to the touch. Those hot pipes sitting out in the exposed air translate to wasted energy. So, I wrapped them with this tape. The tape sticks well and does a great job of insulation. So far, in the three weeks since I got that monster electric bill, I have managed to trim our usage by about 30%, and I am sure that insulating those pipes was one of the factors that helped.

Works But Lots of Waste and Looks Messy
I purchased a roll of this from the local hardware store to insulate the pipes on my water heater.Pros:- Plenty of insulative thickness.- The self-adhesive works very well and the insulation sticks well to itself even around tight turns.- The foil has some thickness to it, so I could use my hand to mash it down where necessary to conform to the pipe.Cons:- Requires lots of overlapping, which results in lots of waste. It might be easy to have almost no overlap on a straight pipe (by installing the tape at a sharp angle), but that was impossible for me to do on a bendy flexpipe.- To apply it as a single piece, I had to remove the exhaust pipe in order to have enough room to fish the roll around the pipe.- One roll wasn't enough to do both inlet & outlet pipes on my water heater.- Adhesive will leave a mess on the pipe if I have to remove it. Edit: After 7 months, I removed the insulation to replace it with the foam insulation like the other pipe, and this insulation came off easily without leaving any residue on the pipe.- The result looks messy and unfinished in my opinion. For the second pipe, I switched to using tube-style pipe insulation. I cut V-notch relief slots in the tube where necessary to bend around radii and I reinforced it at regular intervals with 3M Metallized Flexible Duct Tape. It worked much better, was easier to install, and, in my opinion, looks much better. See attached pictures.

Bit of an issue
The only issue I have had is getting it to stick to itself at the ends. It just keeps coming lose.
