Love, love, love....but....
Love these knobs BUT...they are not for modern doors. My husband used a whole saw and a sheet of plywood to cut out discs to go inside behind the plates so there was something for the screws to grab. If you don't mind some retro fitting, these are great.

Pretty but CHECK THE HOLE SIZE IN YOUR DOOR not just the backset.
PLEASE NOTE!!! There is a lot of information about backset, but little notes on the fact that this knob is meant for doors with a hole that is much smaller than most modern doors. If the hole in the door is 1 1/2 inches or smaller, then you will be ok. If it is larger, the screws on this knob will miss the wood of the door. You will have to create small pieces of half moon shaped wood inserts, make sure to secure them into the hole with glue, and pre-drill holes for the screws to hold the plates onto the door. Also remember that the holes on each side of the door need to be in opposite directions to ensure that the screws do not hit each other. It took some doing, two sets of wood inserts, and a handy hubby to ensure that this knob worked. I was <this close> to returning the item. Took one star off for the trouble. On the plus side, this is a very pretty knob once installed.

I think this will be a temporary knob until I can find something that better suits my taste
Not thrilled with this purchase. I bought them to go on new doors that I had installed and wanted to keep to the 1920's look of my house. The plates and hardware are very cheap and don't fit my new doors. I had to make several adjustments to get them to fit properly including chiseling out more of my door jamb. Once installed they look OK, but they aren't what I was hoping for. There is an iridescence foil in the inside of the knob that gives it a cheap look. I think this will be a temporary knob until I can find something that better suits my taste.

Better price and I didn't care antique or not and ...
I wanted some of these to use as coat hooks. They were 20$ a knob at an antique salvage company. Better price and I didn't care antique or not and work fine for my application.

Looks good, works good, hard to install on modern doors
I ordered two of these glass door knobs. They have a nice heavy feel to them and they remind me of the ones my grandparents had in their home when I was a kid. The only downside to these is that they are not easy to install on a modern door. They are meant to have a smaller opening that the rod can go through and would best be used to replace an original antique knob rather than installed on a precut modern door. The metallic hole coverings, at the base of the glass knobs, are smaller than the footprint of today's handles. Also, most coverings have bolts that go through the door and attach to one another through the door. In this case, these coverings are designed to screw into the door itself. The trouble is that since they are smaller than the hole itself there is nothing to screw them into and I had to spend a lot of time fashioning an internal wooden piece that didn't interfere with the latch mechanism so that they could be attached solidly. I would also mention that the latch itself works like an old fashion door knob and does not respond as we are used to now. Sometimes you have to turn the knob a bit further than normal to get the latch to open. All in all, I love the old-timey look and feel of these knobs but I'm not sure I would have purchased them had I known how much work it was going to be to install them.

Did not fit a standard door knob hole
These were very cute door knobs but didn't work out for us. We purchased them for our bathroom remodel. They did not fit the holes for our doors. They are smaller than a standard door knob. We were very disappointed.

Nice looking and priced right
They work perfectly for a pair of small hallway closet doors in an old house that used to be handle-less. Definitely classed up their appearance.
