Great Value and Filling but Not Great Flavor
Zero grams of fat is great, this is super low calorie and just pure protein. The taste is great in simple “protein recipes” i haven’t tried it in baking but i want to. It keeps me fuller for longer compared to whey protein for sure. The taste isn’t as good as the whey isolate from Nutricost in shakes and in general though.

Tastes good, doesn't clump, not super thick like others
Happy with this so far. The nutrition profile is great, almost no overhead calories over protein. Taste is very mild vanilla and good. It doesn't clump! Most importantly, unlike other casseins, it's not super thick when using ~1 cup of water per scoop. Its still slightly thicker than whey, which is to be expected, but not "milkshake" thick like others. Still very "chuggable" and you don't have to shake it for more than 10 seconds to get it to blend well.

It's different but affordable.
I bought the 5lb bucket for the convenience of having a surplus of protein shake without having to buy again for awhile. This is my first time buying this product so here's what I think.Pros-Affordable, tastes pretty good, doesn't clump when mixing (i blend mine in a bottle half full first), the bottle will make a good plant pot.Cons-It's messy af it goes everywhere! You wipe your hands on your outfit and you have streaks of powder it's annoying. Half of the drink tastes like sand sliding down your throat and I find it disturbing. (I let my shakes sit at least 15mn before consumption). (The other half is smooth so it must be what settles to the top that's sandy). That's my only complaint. For the convenience of 5lb of protein shake and the good flavor I'll probably end up buying it again. I do like the flavor and it sits well with my stomach. I hear from other reviews it's slow digesting so that's a plus if so.Oh have fun digging the scooper out.

Worth it!
I bought this for purpose, not for the flavor, but wow. I didn't expect it to taste good. It dissolves like the other casein proteins I've gotten, so no change there. Today is the first day I've tried it. Chocolate resolves everything, I swear. I don't really notice the chalky aftertaste that people talk about, I'm more about the texture. I'm a big fan of shakes and malts, and this is a much healthier alternative to drinking those. I've had so much improvement using this stuff, and despite the change in product source, I have no doubts it will continue assisting me. I don't really know how to measure the progress, but I started this stuff in September, and went from a size 11 ring to a size 9.5 ring, and I'm about to need to swap down to a size 9. I'm still 197, but golly if I don't look it. I'm on top of the world. If you're hesitating between casein protein or whey protein, get this stuff. This will keep you full for much longer than whey protein will. And the lumps that don't dissolve? Think of them as marshmallows lol you'll get a giggle and it tastes better haha

Great for cooking/baking
I bought this casein because I heard casein was better to cook with than whey protein powder. I've been making the best protein waffles I've ever made using this powder so it's definitely true. It's not dry and nasty like it is with whey. I really liked the price of this Nutricost protein compared to others and just went with it. It did not disappoint. The recipe for my waffles if you're interested is the following: 40g oats, 1 scoop of this stuff, baking powder, 1tsp vanilla extract, 1 large egg, 70g cottage cheese, some unsweetened, almond milk to get a more liquidy consistency (sorry I didn't measure). Throw everything into a blender or nutribullet and let it mix. For me it made three full waffles that smelled amazing. Eat it with some sugar free syrup and you'll have yourself some delicious body building waffles that tastes like the real thing. I do find that it takes a little longer in the waffle iron than regular waffles so play around with it.On another note, in terms of ingesting this as a shake with just water, it's pretty chalky like any other casein. I would recommend taking regular whey over this if you just make shakes. I know a lot of people will take this before bedtime but IMO it's totally unnecessary as long as you're getting sufficient protein during the day. If you do need protein you can supplement with regular whey which is cheaper and whey in general is a higher quality protein.I would totally recommend this for those looking for a great cooking protein!

Good bedtime protein
It's a pure product and a good choice to take before bed, as casein protein takes about 6 hours to digest. Two scoops may taste a bit chalky so use it with water and not milk. I buy the one over and over again for bed time/evening protein.

As Advertised
It's exactly what you'd expect. Good flavor. I would buy this again.

Great price. Taste is acceptable, but best if blended with other ingredients.
I was using the ON brand casein until they started adding Zinc to the product, limiting the number of servings I felt I could safely consume per day. I switched to Dymatize due to the price and lack of added Zinc. Now the Dymatize vanilla flavor price has jumped to about $90 dollars per container. I love the Dymatize vanilla flavor, but I cannot justify the $90 price. The Nutricost vanilla casein flavor is not as good as Dymatize vanilla, but I usually blend with other ingredients to enhance the flavor. The price of the Nutricost brand casein is good enough that I can overlook some shortcomings in flavor. The low price does make me question the quality of the ingredients in the product compared to the Dymatize brand, but I have not seen any shortcomings in the ingredients list that would keep me from using the product. I will continue to use the Nutricost vanilla casein because of the price, until the Dymatize vanilla casein price comes back down. How I mix it:I cool my morning coffee down a bit with a few ice cubes, and blend in a serving of the Nutricost vanilla powder as a substitute for creamer. I also blend it with frozen blueberries as a shake before bedtime.
