Versatile, simple, economical, delightful.
Three weeks after taking delivery of the Drinkmate Omni Fizz, I am extremely happy with it. I have included in my review some information that I wish I’d known before taking delivery of this item. Read on if you’re interested. How long should you hold the button down to achieve optimal carbonation? After a little trial and error, I have found it’s best to use one second pulses (count out “1 one thousand” while holding down the button). 7 to 10 such pulses works great (for the 1 L bottles, which are actually more like 850 ML bottles because of the placement of the maximum fill line. Cut that in half for the half liter bottle, of course.I have taken heed of earlier reviews, and when operating the machine, I let off the pressure after carbonation very slowly. There is a 2 inch gap between the top of the liquid in the bottle and the actual mouth of the bottle, and so when releasing pressure simply keep an eye on how much the liquid is fizzing up and release the button before the fizz reaches the mouth of the bottle. Once it settles down, release some more pressure. Rinse and repeat until the pressure is equalized, and you can remove the fizzing attachment from the mouth of the bottle. I’ve never made the kind of mess some other reviewers mentioned, simply by learning from their experience. This machine really does fizz anything. I have fizzed my iced tea, and that worked great. I’ve also started experimenting with making syrups out of berry or lemon juice and sugar, and using those to make my own sodas. They’re delicious, they’re very fizzy, and a hell of a lot cheaper than what you’d pay for something similar in the stores. Use about 1/4c syrup per 1L bottle. How long does a cartridge last? My wife and I have been drinking one to two bottles apiece a day since we got the thing three weeks ago, and we’re still on our first cartridge. If you get this thing, and especially if you share a kitchen with somebody whose beverage tastes differ from yours, you will want to order additional bottles to supplement the one 1 L and the 1/2 L bottle that come with the machine. I ordered an additional two pack of 1 L bottles and that seems to be enough.Other things I like: it’s great to have a kitchen appliance that doesn’t require electricity at all. It takes up very little counter space. It’s really simple to use. It’s also very very fast: I go from deciding I want a bottle of soda to having a full bottle of chilled soda in my hand in under a minute.Overall, this has been my favorite new kitchen purchase in some years. I use it constantly and I’m very happy with the results. Strongly recommend.

If you are a carbonated water fan, this is for you.
The machine is easy to operate, creates the perfect amount of carbonation, and is making it much easier for me to get my water in. It also makes for a great Scotch and Soda. I finally have a good use for the corner of my counter with no access to electricity. It is slim and light, so easy to move. I got it in red and it adds a nice touch of color to my kitchen. I expect it will save me money in the long run as I don't have to purchase bottles of Club Soda and I like that I'm not adding quite as much plastic to the world and they make it easy to recycle the gas canisters.

Well done
Family loves it, is to use, and everybody exicted to see every they can carbonate. There's no wires, doesn't take up alot of room, and easy to switch out the carbonation cartridge.

So far so good. Tried a couple of these machines and what people say is true. This one is much better with carbonation. Think it also manages to get a nice bubble level using less gas.

LOVE IT...with two caveats.
OK. Yes, I love this thing and so does my wife - no more soda and high fructose corn syrup or excessive sugar (that's why my wife loves it).Why do I love it? Because I can customize my carbonated beverages. I'm mainly a juice/carbonated guy. I haven't done the tea or anything else except juice, but based on how it works I'm sure you can carbonate just about anything. It's pretty simplistic in its operation and remember to push the little blue button before taking the top off. LET ME STRESS THAT, again - depressurize the bottle before taking off the top after you do the carbonation. I don't see any kind of safety issue, but you will have a mess on your hands if you don't AND lose a bunch of your beverage. Now the caveats. It seems a bit cheap as far as the construction of THE CARBONATOR (that's what we call it...THE CARBONATOR). We've only had it for two weeks, and no problems, but it just seems a bit cheaply made, especially for the price ($142). Would we but it again? ABSOLUTELY! But mind you, we're buying it for what it does. But if we don't get two years out of it, I'll be a little irritated because of how much we paid for it.But yes, if we knew then what we know now, we'd still buy it.One other thing, the lifespan of the CO2 bottle. No idea, how long it will last, but we'll give you a heads-up.Take care and enjoy...if you buy one, right?
