Great weird boot - amazing for long road rucks
Who am I:230LB. 40min 5 mile. 2.5h 12 mile ruck. I like hooha things.I recommend you get different boots depending on what your task is - get the right tool for the job as they say. This is a great product for ruck marches. Background: These boots look weird and very crinkly/noisy. But didn't have a choice since I was short on the packing list and that's all the PX had in my size.BEST ACCIDENT EVER. These shoes (with a pair of good insoles - recommend Walkomfy Heavy Duty!) are better than the garmont bifida for long road marches/uniform runs. The noise goes away once you break them in. I am on my second set and not looking anywhere else. The garmont bifida probalby still wins on the rope climb or super rough hiking where grip is needed... so I have a couple of pairs of these too.Try them.

Pretty Good Boots
These are pretty good boots. The soles are very comfortable; literally the most comfortable military boot I've ever had! Although these are good, there are a couple things that need fixing (reason for the 3 stars).Color: I was pretty dissatisfied in the color. They have a light picture and then if you scroll down you see darker pictures of this boot. The actual color seems more of just Coyote and not Coyote Brown (compared to my other Coyote Brown boots). The Coyote brown I've had before is usually darker. Rocky has another lightweight boot in the suggestions at the bottom of this one whose actual true color is Coyote Brown. I would've ordered that one but it wasn't on Amazon at the time I got these.Laces: These laces are somewhat short. I've broken my boots in (been wearing for about 2 months now) and I still have to constantly, excessively tighten these to get them through the top eyelets of the boots all the way. This creates little room for a double knot, which is needed. I really like these boots but I may need new laces.Width: This wasn't actually bad at all. I always get wide sizes but with these the wide was actually really big. Again, not a bad thing, just got a regular size and they fit great. The toebox is also pretty wide already so I would suggest getting a regular size unless if you wear maybe an extra wide shoe or something.

Disguise big feet
I wear a size 12 wide. Usually the display model looks great and then my actual size looks like a comically stretched version of the original intent. Not with these! If anything, they make my feet look smaller. Fit us excellent - I sometimes wear a double wide but the wide was fine for me. They are light, they air puff feature certainly doesn’t feel like air conditioning but I can sense that there might be something there.

Different than cheaper version sold at patriots
Rocky makes two versions of this boot. This model comes with a thicker sole and the upper ankle part crunches like a plastic bag when you walk. I’ve owned my for two months and wore them everyday for work and the sound has not crunchy diaper sound for a little better but is still there. My older version of these boot were much cheaper made but didn’t need a break in. I still recommend them for their comfort.Update: upper is separating from the sole despite only using in the office. I will not buy again - unless issue is addressed by the seller.Update: Rocky replaced my boots free of charge. Problem was they claimed the boots I sent back were never received then realized they did have them and after 2 mos of calling they shipped my new pair.

Stiff and noisy material, runs large
The boot felt like it was the right size, but the laces were cinched completely tight together, meaning I probably needed to go down a size, but that would have put my toes too close to the front. The canvas like material on the ankles is stiff and noisy. Every step you take will sound like the ruffling of a thick canvas sheet, it might go away, eventually, but it was uncomfortable and annoying. The cushion of the sole was good and the only redeeming factor.

The glue is wearing our on the boots not the tread. Horrible thing to happen
Purchased the boots for garrison duty to have clean boots. So that's saying I don't do anything but walk in them. I bought two pairs and rotation is happening (old soldier) and I notice the glue is separating from the tred. My tred is like new and I would never expect this from a company I have bought b4. I can fix with shoe glue but the quality is not that of a boot for the military use.Update! 5 oct 2024Called the company and sent photos. They sent me a new pair. Good service

Durable and comfortable
Wore these boots for 9 months in Afghanistan, July to April. I found them to be comfortable and they held up fine. I am still wearing them. I had a 1 K walk to and from work and some of that was rocky, muddy, snowy, or wet. In the heat they were not terribly hot. I walked through snow and puddles and my feet didn't get terribly wet. I remember being very surprised that my feet didn't get wet at times. They might not be warm enough if you spend extended time in the cold but I never had a problem. The nylon canvas did wear a hole above the ankle bone on the inside but I stuck a uniform patch inside the boot and they held together. The stitching of the suede to the nylon came apart in the back but it doesn't affect the boots at all. There is very little wear on the soles. Considering that I wore these boots every single day for nearly 300 days they are doing great and still going.
