Sanwa, Japan Analog Battery Powered Multimeter YX360TRF (Original Made In Japan)

...and one has to rely on the "Made in Japan" tag for reliability, accuracy and longevity. But this is a "standard" multimeter, with nothing to complain about. One thing is, the measurement leads could have been removable (it's soldered to the board). Using AA battries (2x) is a plus.

Good product

Sanwa is cheating the people selling products with worst workmanship. The appearance of this meter is great on the outside but for inside it is just the exact opposite.Very very poor workmanship is reflected on the PCB assembly the soldering of the components are very poor and even dry soldered at some points the excess flux has never been removed from the pcb. I guess the assembling of this product is done on piece work contract from inexperienced people. Only the outer case being molded by Sanwa I believe. This product don't even match with the locally made cheap Electronics products out there in the market. I wonder how this has a label Made in Japan ?Speaking about the accuracy it is not that excellent as promised by the Company. The tolerance is very high on DC and AC voltage range. For example when I measured 3.76V DC the needle just passed the 4V marking. The resistance measurement too cannot be appreciated that much.Finally for a top class meter like this one would expect a ceramic protective fuse inside but unfortunately for this sanwa you can only find a great cheap glass fuse.

A very good product. This item I ordered for my trainee engineer. I am using a similar one for the past 20 years. Fit and finish also very good.
