We have the regular Dyson V8, and a toddler who likes to help. Unfortunately the grown up version is way too heavy for a 1yr old. So this is perfect. It can suck a little dust, but don't expect it to do anything. The little can now vacuum with us and "help" and even likes to "clean" on her own. She'll follow or lead the way while we vacuum. It's adorable and the colors are the same.Only con is I wish this really did vacuum, and had a wall hook or something so it could be stored like the adult version.

I got this for my niece as she has been showing interest in cleaning. She is 2 and it was a hit. It is extremely durable and a perfect size.

We have a Dyson V8 and my big kid can use the real one while the 2 year old uses the toy. Perfect. It sucks up a tiny amount of dust but nothing actually useful in cleaning.

Manufacturing defect! The battery compartment is built wrong (2 coils on one battery slot and none on another), so it will not work! This was a Christmas present for a grandchild, and is outside of the return window. Very disappointing!

Our toddler is loving this! He is obsessed with the real deal stick Dyson vacuum we have and throws a fit every time we put it away so we found this for him. It’s lightweight enough that he can hold it and pick it up at 16 months old. Not coordinated enough to push the trigger for power on his own but if we help him get it running he’s in heaven. There is virtually no suction - this is just a toy and not for cleaning. Ours has been thrown around a bunch in just a couple weeks and it’s holding together and fully functioning without issue. Worth every penny.

I was excited to buy this for my son when I came across it. I have a hand held Dyson vacuum that looks almost identical to this, and my 18mo old is always trying to “help” me vacuum with the real deal, so when I found this I knew he would love it.The good thing is that it does look just like my vacuum, it’s small enough for my 18mo old to play with. He loves to push it around and pretend to vacuum behind me.The issue with this vacuum toy is that, like other reviews have mentioned, the sound/suction aspect only works sporadically. There’s no rhyme or reason to it working or not working. I’ve tried replacing the batteries, making sure they were pushed in all the way, installed exactly right, brand new, everything, and the dang thing still works when it feels like it. The noise is really fun/cute, but also my son has a complete meltdown when it doesn’t work, so I’m between frustrated that it doesn’t work all the time and frustrated that I even put batteries in it to begin with. Unfortunately there’s no more available so I have to wait for more to be available so I can replace it.My other complaint/pet peeve is that the box this toy came in was obviously taped shut second hand and had an area where a shipping label was cut off of it. This tells me that someone else got this item and it didn’t work and so they sent it back. If you get an item and it doesn’t work, please send it back as DAMAGED/DEFECTIVE, so that other people don’t end up getting the same broken garbage you didn’t want. Thanks!Update*This product finally came back in stock, so I ordered another one for my son. The new one came in an unopened box and works great so far! We have had it for almost a week now and the sound has not failed to work yet. I have added a star to my review for this, but still left it at 4 stars due to the fact that the first one I bought didn’t work.

Doesn’t actually pick anything up. Frustrating for little ones.

This doesn’t have real suction but my son loves the toy!
