You can’t go wrong with Samsonite.
I’ll update review after some usage time, but upfront, the name pretty much says it all: a well-built 100% functional Samsonite backpack.Highlights:- Size: I was looking for a mid-size backpack and this one is perfect. See size reference in pictures, holds my 13” MBP and easily fits a 15” too.- Look & Feel: young professional/business-oriented backpack. Not flashy, not sporty, completely sober and definitely not bulky.- Laptop pocket padding: excellent protective padding.- Rear sleeve for upright luggage handles: it’s almost impossible to find a backpack of this size featuring the rear sleeve to slip on and off rolling luggage handles. With this said, in my opinion Samsonite really needs to catch up in terms of design and lightweight materials. Otherwise they’ll be loosing edge to other competitors like Targus or Vx that have more ‘modern’ designs.UPDATE AFTER 1 YEAR OF DAILY USE: backpack is still as new, no signs of wear-out (zips, pockets, inner and outer lining are spotless) and waterproof under rain.

Love this backpack
This is a nice bag and it's professional looking enough to use for work. I took this to Amsterdam for a conference and it was roomy for the things I needed with me on the plane. I'm about 5'5" and slender, so this is a good size for me and doesn't look like the bag is bigger than me.I liked this bag so much I bought one for my 17 yo son for school. Very durable and had the right size compartments.Pros:The computer section is well padded, although it is fairly slim...you can fit a laptop and maybe a few folders, but that's it.The middle section is room enough to put folders and perhaps a thick book, or sweatshirt. The handle on top is very sturdy.Drink holders are the right size to easily fit a regular size bottle of water and they are snug enough to keep it in place. The front pouch unzips around the sides, so it's easy to get in and find what you need. It is a little narrow, but it's not meant to be a large backpack, so it's fine. There is a front pouch that can hold either a cell phone (but not padded) or a plane/train ticket.Cons:I did find the backpack straps were a problem. They are comfortable and padded enough, but every time I tried to put my 2nd arm into the loop, it stretched out really far and I had to keep adjusting to make it tighter. Once it's on and adjusted, they stay in place. Maybe many packs do this, but my old one didn't.I don't like the cell phone pouch in the inside, roomy section where folders and books go. It's kind of an awkward place for the phone and the green pouch isn't affixed to the bag, so it hangs down and gets in the way EVERY TIME I try to get something in or out of that section. I need to buy some sort of strong velcro so I can affix it to the lining so it doesn't swing in the way.I'm including some photos b/c I don't think the product photos available when I purchased this showed me everything well enough.

Good Value
Very sturdy, wide and cushioned back straps makes carrying the backpack more comfortable. Tons of different pockets for storing items, which is great. Good value for the money.

Right Size and Comfortable to Wear
I purchased this bag for traveling and it has everything I needed. I searched for weeks and returned several because they didn't fit right, or were too stiff and clumsy to work with, or the zippers were difficult, etc. So far, I can find nothing wrong with this bag. It's the right size for an average size woman, it's soft enough to get in and out of comfortably, but still has enough form to hold things together so it's not sagging and dragging on the shoulders. The zippers work well and it has a strap on the back so I can slip it over the extended handle of my rolling bag. Maybe it would have been nice to have some side zipper pockets, but the water bottle holders on both sides will still work for me. Only time will tell if it holds up well for travel. I'm so relieved my search is over.

Not As Comfortable As Expected
Item was well made and offered plenty of pockets and storage. Water bottle holders seemed a bit small for regular-sized bottles. Biggest drawback for me was the comfort factor. Shoulder straps were too wide and stiff causing discomfort while carrying, plus no ventilation air gap or padding on back panel. Both were deal breakers. Returned. Note: was charged a fee for the UPS return.

This is a great backpack. I’ve owned it for over a year now. I originally bought it for two, two week long international business trips with multiple flights. It’s small enough to fit on the floor under the seat in front of you if you need to do that, yet it was big enough to hold my headphones, all of my toiletries (for faster security checkpoints) a large power converter, my surfacebook pro, mouse, power supply, iPad mini 4 a power bank and my mountain hardwear winter jacket. I love the strap to put it over my carry-on handle. The one and only complaint that I have is that the zipper don’t have loops for locks or even zipper pulls. They are larger enough to maybe squeeze a lock in, but it would be better if they were purpose built for a lock. Still, it’s a great backpack and I’d recommend it to anyone.
