CTA Tools 9030 Fluted Screw Extractor Set, 5-Piece

Superb. Bought these to try and remove 2 broken spark plugs on a Ford Focus. Used the largest size in the pack with a 3/8 extension upside down with an adjustable spanner to turn it. Gripped the broken off bit with no bother and pulled it straight out. Saved me taking the cylinder head off.

My girlfriend had a problem with her car - knocking. Upon inspection I've noticed that coil just flew out when the engine was started.And I've never seen that before. I was thinking that's it - scrap car or big job like head replacement...After doing some research later found out that this might work and gave it a go for £13.I used penetrative lube as well - just in case. The biggest bit helped me out to take it out (not without a little struggle).I have used long 3/8 extension backwards with adjustable wrench as I couldn't put an adjustable on it due to lack of space.Did not break after some good taps so quality is pretty solid. All job from start to finish took 1hr with cleaning near spark plugs to make sure debris doesn't get inside the bore. Easiest fix in my life.

Spark plug snapped off leaving the ceramic inside which is worst case scenario. I used a very fine chisel to chip away the ceramic down by 10mm to allow the easy out to get into the plug. I used blue tack on the end of the chisel to remove the broken ceramic pieces. Once this was done I taped the 3/8 (largest one) easy out to a 3/8 extension and tapped in as deep as possible into plug. Used an adjustable spanner on the top of the extension to slowly turn. Big relief after removing plug in tact and nothing inside cylinder. Excellent tool set.

Worked perfectly. I don’t know why the reviews were saying this extraction tool breaks etc. For me it was just a few light taps with a hammer and the broken spark plug came out without a problem. Definitely a lifesaver.

Had a seized spark plug that snapped when trying to remove and only the thread was left in the head, the plugs were fitted by the previous owner, and obviously over tightened. Brought these as a last ditch resort before booking into a garage. I was a little apprehensive when using it but wow what a result!! It took a few attempts to get the thread out but amazed by the results.

Great tools to have but hopefully never need. Managed to get me out of a bad situation when my valve cover/injector stud snapped off clean in the head. Used a centre punch and drilled as far as I could into the bolt. Tapped these in with an hammer then used pliers to undo and it came out no problem. Highly recommend these over easy outs, these are made out of a much better material and are less likely to snap in the bolt giving you further issues. 5 ⭐️
