Best game I have played in years!
I bought this game as part of a way to homeschool my children in geography. It was a suggestion by many other homeschool Moms (although it's certainly great for everyone!). I will say that it feels very overwhelming at first as it's pretty involved. But, the booklet of instructions is excellent and lays out the game process very well. My 8yo and 10yo picked it up well, and my 5yo played on my team. It's a super fun way to learn about geography, landmarks, and strategy development. I was skeptical of spending almost $50 on a game, but it is VERY well made and clearly will last us a long time. I am going to get the National Parks one next!!

Tie into educational standards plus it's fun!
I'm often looking for ways to play together as a family. When I saw this during Prime days, I snatched the deal for Christmas. Today, when we opened it up to play, the board is beautifully detailed and fully of color. Lots of small pieces in this game if you have littles. Enjoy the suitcases to help you keep score. It's fun to play and a great way to learn the 7 continents. You can easily tie this into several educational standards for those who wish to use this at school or homeschool.

Fun, replayable, relaxing, and excitingly competitive!
I rated the game 5 stars for the same reason others had rated this 1 star, because of the various ways to score points! Others see it as unnecessary complexity (those who didn't research before buying), but actually it isn't, it makes the game very replayable because on your turn, you are presented with multiple options you can take. For those who are finding a game who wants a simple step by step of do 1, then do 2, then do 3, then buy Ticket to Ride, simple but could feel repetitive and a bit boring after just 5 games since you're doing the same every time. With Trekking the World, the various options you can take on a turn makes the game always interesting and feels new every time, highly replayable! On top of those options, you can also change the journey cards used for every game thus adjusting everyone's strategy further as those cards offers something different (and there are 12 of them). The game is easy to learn as the rulebook is very clear.I'm playing it as a 2 player game and it works very well, highly competitive but still relaxing and fun. There is always the excitement to plan your moves efficiently to collect points while pursuing the larger objectives (the destination cards) with the excitement/tension to do it first before your opponent does. The item was shipped internationally (to the Philippines) and everything (box and components inside) are complete and in perfect condition. I actually appreciate the minimal plastic used on the packaging (in comparison to local distributors/sellers who put way too much plastic).

Fun, challenging game
The game is very fun to play with family or friends. It is challenging and keeps the player’s attention through to the end. Strategies can be learned each time played. It last a good amount of time. It is a great way to learn about iconic tourist sights across the globe. It also reminds us how accessible places are across the globe and how connected we can be. It was fun to be reminded what countries are included in each continent. Reading the tour cards was interesting. The game is set up where it will be different every time the game is set up; different locations will be featured each time played. It is a great family fun game across ages. We all put down our electronic devices and made eye contact having conversations. Family game night is now back in our house with this game. Players 2 to 5 gives the option to play with a different amount of people. The video link explains the game quickly. That is very helpful, but there are a lot of procedures and rules in situations to keep up with that are not clearly accessible in the printed instructions. There is a helpful instruction reminder card for each player for the basics. The game kept all age groups involved. Be sure to have players watch the instruction video before setting up. (Such a great feature!) The price of the game seemed high for a board game, but it provides great entertainment. Players really have to pay attention and stay engaged. Pretty cool board game!

Challenging, interesting game
We loved the Trekking the National Parks game, so decided to try another game from the same makers. This Trekking the World game won out, and we happily opened it up once we got here and checked it out. The rules are quite a bit more complicated than Trekking the National Parks, but the game itself is fun and moves along quickly once you get it figured out. There are a lot of ways to earn points--probably too many since one of the ways we never did figure out how to get or use. The game differs enough from the Park Trekking game that almost none of the rules carried over. That said, we had a lot of fun playing it and are looking forward to the next time we play, when we shouldn't have to spend 30 minutes figuring out the rules before we could get started.

Great family game!
This is a wonderful family game! Set-up and gameplay takes a little time to learn, but the instructions are very clear and once you get the hang of it, it's really pretty straightforward. Feels a bit reminiscent of Ticket to Ride, but you are collecting things instead of building routes. My favorite thing about it is that you get to take a pretend voyage around the world each time you play. The gameboard is a world map, so I'm hoping that will give my kids some more exposure to world geography. And the destination cards have illustrations and descriptions of sites around the world. The box says ages 10+, but younger kids can also play - my 8-year-old did just fine. My husband and I also played it on our own, and it worked well for 2 players as well. The price is high for a board game, but the materials are very high quality, so I'd say if it's something you'll play frequently, it's worth the investment.
