The DEFINITIVE Ziggy Stardust (Blu Ray)
This is undoubtedly, the single best release since the Bowie team starting remastering and re-issuing his releases two decades ago. The stereo version on here is a sonic upgrade worthy of anyone's catalog. The album has never sounded so clear. The ATMOS mix is fantastic as well. The only word of warning is that in an effort to boost Bowie's vocals, Mick Ronson's guitar has be reduced a bit. As Ken Scott, himself, in reference to this change, if you boost something, you have to take away something else. Personally, I would have preferred Mick's guitar as maximum volume, but to each their own.

Great album, definitely worth the purchase
Great album with no complaints. The story of Ziggy Stardust, a very interesting and iconic album. CD has held up well over the past 6 months or so, definitely a must for anybody looking for something that is a pivotal piece in the history of music.

David Bowie magnum opus. AND A PERFECT CUSTOM SLEEVE
Vinyl plays perfect 0 skips, I’ve seen a lot of reviews, saying how it’s been packaged in a cheap paper sleeve, well this is a 2024 reissue and it’s packaged in a custom picture and lyrics sleeve that is made pretty well. I’m sorry for others who haven’t gotten this version

My copy skipped on Side B, but now it plays perfectly! Here's what I did...
I purchased my copy in October 2017. Side B skipped a lot, just as many other reviews here say. At that time I was using a brand new AT95E stylus, and it was properly calibrated. I had no skipping problems playing any of my other records, even used ones that weren't in the best condition. I was able to minimize the amount of skips on Side B by turning the anti-skate control up a little, but it would still randomly skip an unacceptable amount of times.A year later in October 2018, I got an Ortofon 2M Red. Again, I properly calibrated it. I decided to play Side B of this same copy as a test. I was able to play through Side B three times now without a single skip! It plays perfectly now.Don't take this review as me telling you to hop on the Ortofon 2M band wagon. I'm not even saying that there is no problem with this reissue pressing. Rather, I'm suggesting that you will find different results depending on the stylus you are using and how well your deck is set up. There are plenty of 5-star reviews here since the release that haven't had any issues. I had the AT95E for a year, and I was perfectly happy with it otherwise. I only upgraded to the Ortofon 2M Red because one was given to me for free.If your copy is skipping on Side B, I suggest making sure your deck is calibrated. This includes cartridge alignment, tracking force, and anti-skate. It makes all the difference. There are plenty of great tutorials on YouTube for this. If that doesn't help, perhaps try and new stylus/cartridge.

This Would Be His Crowning Achievement!
By the time this highly publicized album first came out in 1972, David Bowie hadbecome part of Glam-Rock, a subgenre that showcase flashy costumes and stylishimprovisational rock which swayed with exhilarating hard-driving rock and roll. TheRise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars caused quite a mediastir when it electrified the music world and told the story about a liberating rock starfrom Outer Space who lands on Earth as the album became a extravagant successand a blockbuster hit. Beginning with the opening arrival Five Years, the track setblasts off and conclude with Soul Love, Moonage Daydream, the majestic Starman,Hang On To Yourself, Ziggy Stardust, the electrifying Suffocate City, and Rock AndRoll Suicide, as it chronicles the androgynous alien rock star's rise to notoriety, justto later fall from grace. Plus, what you get on the expanded edition alternate takeson Moonage Daydream and Hang On To Yourself, extra tracks like the Top Ten hitJohn, I'm Only Dancing; Velvet Goldmine; Round And Round, and delightful demosof Lady Stardust (piano solo) and Ziggy Stardust (acoustic guitar). By successfullyborrowing from Marc Bolan's glam-rock merit and the `future shock' of A ClockworkOrange (no violence allowed!), Bowie would reach back to the heavy rock heraldedby an off-kilter metallic mix of fatter guitar solos, genuine pop music, string sectionsand cinematic-style flourishes. Officially described as the manifestation of an alienbeing attempting to bring a message of love and hope during it's five year stay, butto be accidentally destroyed by his consumptions and the fans he represented, thislandmark masterwork is backed by Mark Ronson's solid guitar attacks and its bosssaxophone section that helped make The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And TheSpiders From Mars is such a glitzy keyboard and guitar wielding spectacle that willalways shine as bright as ever for the ages--and beyond.
