Useful item
This is kind of an oddball thing that probably not a lot of people have a need for, so it's not common, but I was glad to find it. It worked perfectly for my little project. Quality seems very good.

Unreasonably expensive...
...but is the best solution to get a cat5 port on the exterior side of the wall.

Needs 1 inch hole
Seems to work fine. Cap attachment isn't great, but I don't care because my box is indoors and will always have a cable attached. It is easy to remove. You need a 1 inch hole diameter at a minimum. It will not fit into a 15/16 inch hole. It fit a bit loosely into the approximately 1-1/16" hole in my box (maybe 27mm). I think it will seal around that hole. Standard 3/4" knockouts in electrical equipment are often 1-1/8 in. I think the seal would be marginal in a hole that large. I think it would work in even a 1-1/4 inch hole but it won't be water tight.The side intended to face into a box has a ribbed seal that is larger then the o-ring seal on the other side. It is possible to insert it backwards and the lockring fits on either side. Be careful if you care about the water seal.

Useful For Outdoor/Dirty Enviroment Enclosures
Use these for enclosures that I build up requiring ethernet connections. They help keep moisture/dust from getting into the enclosure.

works as expected
bought this for a external ethernet supply for the camper and it works great now i got wired internet from my house to my camper! can be closed of when not in use. its great but $12 seems like there are cheaper options. but functions well and works so thats a plus

Quick joining fix
These couplers are great for PoE camera systems in the attic or mobile/outdoor temp use.. You can either attach them to a plate (recommended) or let them sit in the open (more of a temporary fix). I love that the cap is attached. No more asking myself, "Where did I put that thing?"

Nice piece of equipment
Nice piece of equipment. Easy to install and seals up very tight. Cap can be detached if a cable with a boot is permanently attached.

It protected my RJ-45 connector from the elements.
The device covered my exposed CAT6 cable from the elements. Quick fix, the price was a little high.
