Yes. The top of my table is darker than the chairs. It looks great.

I wouldn’t try to stain the wood just because it would most likely ruin the fabric welt on the back and seat edges. I’ve seen similar chairs with darker wood finishes, so if that’s what you want, I’d keep looking.
