Great stand for a great price
This wooden stand is a game changer for my embroidery/cross stitch! It was easy to put together. It fits my wooden hoops (which are what I use due to cost and ability to then frame finished works). Great value for the cost.I did read a review stating it would not hold the hoop. If this happens to you, put the screw in the opposite way. Mine has been steady since I reversed the screw.I have been able to use this on my couch in addition to a chair with no cushion. Can’t wait to try it out in the car in a trip!It is a solid construction. Wood is sanded smooth. You could paint or stain if you wanted to but I like the look of the wood.Overall I recommend this for product. It has allowed me to have both hands to stitch. It is easily taken anywhere making it highly functional for stitchers.

What style hoop you use will determine your happiness!!
I was very excited to order this and it arrived where we were going to vacationing for 2 weeks. BUT it’s unusable to me as the cross stitch piece and hoop I brought is not compatible with it. I have tried so many things to make it work, adding washers for tighness, made fitted vinyl pieces clued together to fit into the grooves, ….ready to pitch it into the ocean!! BUT if YOU Are using the round bamboo or wood hoops IT MAY fit the groves…but it still appears the screw is too short to be able to ratchet it down to keep hoop from being wobbly. And i have the one with 2 grooves in holding piece. And it SEEMs a small hoop is all this is going to support. Sad its not working for me and wish they had specified the hoops it works with not just a photo of a hoop…does not warn you it will not work with ALL hoops…Monday…follow-up…I was able to find a hoop what fit BUT I still need a wingnut to secure it down tightly. I am using rubber bands right now. Only way to use it for now.. I am happy with purchase but suggest they include a nut ..

Amazing
Works great! Perfect to use anywhere. On the floor, couch, and car. I love it. It works great with plastic hoops.

Where has this been all my life?
I hesitated to buy a stand and didn’t want to spend too much. This one seemed like a good deal so I went for it. And man oh man am I glad that I did. Super easy to set up and even easier to use. I appreciate that I can rotate my work upside down to tie off my stitches. It’s solid wood and well made. If you embroider or cross stitch this is a must have. No more cramping left hand from holding the hoop!!

Disappointed with newer version
I ordered this because the one I had bought a few years ago broke and I wanted to replace it. This one arrived and I was so disappointed. The wood quality was not good at all, it was splintered and unfinished. And the screw piece that connected the rod to the base wouldn’t hold it, it fell out of the hole easily, never tightened, and didn’t hold the two pieces together. I immediately returned it as soon as I opened it.

Try before you buy, if you can.
I thought this would be just wonderful for my embroidery projests. Either I sit funny or it only works with dining room type chairs, or something. I just can't get it adjusted so that it works for me. I admire how it allgoes together! I don't intend to get rid of it because maybe I can get it to work for me. I have trouble sitting at a table with the straight chairs due to a back problem. Maybe it will be the best thing in the world for someone who works at a table.

Easy to assemble
I enjoy having a third hand to hold the hoop while I embroider.
