Don't stay on head 100% but I love these phones!
I like the overall quality and comfort and the music is great. I use them most for listening to audio books. The background sound damping is impressive for the price I paid (I bought them as refurbished) and issufficient for my needs (I need some awareness of what is going on around me). The touch-controls are a bit sensitive but work well with practice. I haven't explored the online app yet to learn if I can adjust the sensitivity. I like that the control system warns me to recharge. I wear them leaning back against a headrest so the ear cups move around a bit but I can tweak the fit for good background suppression and great sound reproduction. I rate them 5 stars because they work and sound great and I don't want to pay almost triple for the very good Bose I have listened to ( I don't trust the quality of the highly rated Sony phones).

These might have pampered me too much...
The Sennheiser PXC 550-II's are some excellent over-ear headphones, and are without a doubt the best I have ever used. Before these Sennheisers I had a pair of Soundcore headphones made by Anker, which I already thought sounded solid. Receiving these blew those away completely. While it is renewed, it appears to be completely new. No imperfections what so ever, and even the box it came in was in perfect condition. All the regular components also come with the headphones, including a very nice (but softshell) case, a headphone cable, an airplane adapter, and a micro USB charger. Although renewed, the battery life is also extremely good, and I charge them once every 5 days or so. The headphones have very good noise cancellation, and are very comfortable to wear. Overall, I'd give this a 5/5.

Very good product for everyday use. Only slight disadvantage- pressure to your head, you can feel them.My wired AKG better in that department.

Sennheiser? Well, never again Sony and maybe if I live long enough I’d ‘try’ the next gen of Bose.
I was shocked at the galaxy apart better noise canceling between Sennheisser v. Bose and Sony. Sennheiser’s noise cancelling is true to what Bose sacrificed for style in the Bose 700. The superior nose cancelling is immediately noticeable to anyone that has worn Bose, since QC15 battery powered model.re: music: Sennheiser is has nearly as crisp a detail as Sony and far better noise cancelling. Sennheiser’s sound is unique, as one feels like one is ‘there’ in a true acoustic sense as opposed to Sony’s Digital imitation of music. Bose was never that great for music anyway. One thing that Bose did better than Sony from the beginning was material and durability of construction. Still do, yet hust barely. Sennheiser's construction, durability, minimalist controls are better than both.

The drivers are good I think
So, full disclosure, I think these were refurbished. So take this with a grain of salt. But, the sound is great, the fit is great if you got small ears like mine, but my right cup started distorting or straight up cutting out after a week of wearing them, and the right side is incredibly creaky, which is annoying. I feel like these might be great head phones in the best of times, but I'm not among those privileged few.

Thrilled with these!
These have given me back an important part of my life. I can listen to music uninterrupted in spite of street noise, lawn mowers, attic fan, family members. I listen to classical music - chamber music and lieder. My old ears aren't the best any more, but they sound perfectly lifelike to me. I like that I can use them corded as my device doesn't have bluetooth. Why isn't there a sixth star? :-)

GREAT sound with hilariously buggy bluetooth
I can’t sugarcoat it…the Bluetooth connectivity on these with Apple MacBook and iPhone is seriously, hilariously buggy and unpredictable (I’m on the latest firmware as of 6/2022)…but the sound is fantastic compared to the Bose QC35ii and others I’ve tried. For the price, for a medium sized head with small/medium ears these are the best sounding, reasonably lightweight/comfortable Bluetooth headphones I’ve tried. They don’t get too hot and they’re lightweight. I have to admit that dollar for dollar, at full price, it would be difficult to ignore the Bluetooth issues when compared against Bose/Sony, but for the renewed price they’re a good deal.…just make sure you have backup plans (a set of wired headphones/mic) for conference calls because they’re pretty buggy switching between devices and Mac applications (MS Teams, Spotify, etc) and you may be left without proper audio - they’re great, just not reliable for high-importance tasks.
