The rating is actually ZERO but I had to click one star to submit this review. The bottle arrived without the quality seal and the container was filled with olive oil not DE Botanical Oil. This was very disappointing and upsetting. I will report this to Amazon Head Office as I do not believe they would endorse false advertisements like this. I would NOT recommend.

I should have listened to an earlier reviewer. As she had did, I used this product back in 2011 by recommendation of my stylist. At that time, this product was a clear-colored, very fragrant oil that was light and airy. It made your hair shine and fresh smelling, never overpowering. Fast forward to last week, I searched and found this product on Amazon and it arrived yesterday. The first thing I did was noticed the color was different. It was not clear color as before. Then I took the top off and smelled it. Ugh! Nothing like before but rather an oily, vegetable oil scent. I looked on the back of the bottle and it's first stated ingredient was CANOLA OIL! The product was too oily and just seemed like u could fry a chicken wing in it! Very disappointed since I know what the product use to be like and smell like, AND THIS AINT IT! I hate when company's change the formulas for hair products. More profit for them by using cheaper ingredients! Don't purchase if you are more familiar of the original product of a few years ago. THIS AINT IT.

I’m going to have to start making my purchase of this botanical oil at the salon because this is the second time I’ve received a product that doesn’t smell or have the viscosity of the product my stylist uses.The foil seal came up when I u screwed the cap. The oil has a menthol smell which is NOT has this oil normally smells.The real Design Essentials Botanical oil has a light pleasant smell. A tiny drop rubbed between your palms and worked into your hair every few days is the perfect method to maintain a natural luster to the hair and seal in moisture. The real Design Essentials Botanical oil is also a powerful cuticle oil and eye makeup remover.I am not convinced what shipped is the real Design Essentials Botanical oil and I will no longer purchase it through Amazon.

This stuff is completely terrible in every way. My daughter and I have completely different hair types. Sometimes we get lucky and can share products. Sometimes a product will only work for one of us, which is expected.This particular product is disgusting in every way. The smell and the feeling it left in both of our hair was enough to make anyone throw it in the trash but besides that, it simply didn't do what hair oil is expected to do.I decided to leave it in anyway and unfortunately I broke out terribly around my hairline and nape (lucky my daughter just had to deal with icky feeling hair for a couple of days). I'm not sure what this product is made for but I have always had good luck with their relaxer line and thought I would invest in their products to use as home. I regret it now.
