This device is a life saving if one emergency happens, but hoping it will never happen.

Never been used but I keep it around just in case of a future problem

So there are a few of these devices out there and my husband has one on hand for his job so he was trained to use it. The one he used is a 2 step mechanism where you place the mask firmly then squash the air out then pull up. He said it works fine, but saw this and thought this could save valuable time and the price was significantly better. When you have a kid that puts everything in his mouth constantly this gives us peace of mind knowing we can quickly dislodge something should the worst thing happen. Very durable and comes packed in a nice bag for travel. Just be sure to actually open and unwrap all the pieces and then store it. The last thing you’d want is to need to use it and spend 5 minutes getting each piece out of the plastic wrapping.

I’m sharing this in hopes of saving a life:This morning I took a bite of a hard boiled egg. Something happened that made me take a quick inhale of breath and the bite sucked down my windpipe. Before I knew it I was choking and couldn’t breathe. It was SUPER QUICK!! Within a couple minutes, I was down and rapidly going out.I got my husband’s attention in the other room and he came running. He was going to do the HEIMLICH maneuver on me and my first thought was, “He’s a moose. He will break my ribs.” I frantically pointed to the kitchen cabinet that holds the ANTI CHOKING DEVICE. Randy grabbed it and was able to suck the bite of egg out of my windpipe.If I had to drag myself to the cabinet ( I would NEVER GIVE UP) it was a good thing that the anti-choking device was on a low shelf and I could have reached it from crawling on the floor. (Upright quickly became impossible.) If I stored it in another room or high up, I wouldn’t have been able to get it.I keep a fire blanket (the front half of my house burned down when I was 12-years-old from a kitchen fire) and the anti-choking device in my kitchen. Either or both could save you or a loved one. We experienced that this morning.Thank you! This device saved me today.
