I've use mineral oil and wood cooking implement oil for many years, and this stuff is so much better! The combination of beeswax and oil conditioned our cutting boards as well as the oils I've used, but the wax seems to "hold" the oils and maintain the board condition for a much longer time.For application: for a dried board, it's important to apply a slight excess, then let it soak it. I put our boards in the sun to heat up and that worked really well. Overall, I really like this wood butter - it smells wholesome, goes on nicely, soaks in well, and provides a longer lasting protection than what I've used before.

Works like any other board butter with one exception. It has rosemary oil in it that makes the aroma terrific and I hope adds to keeping my boards sanitary.

Goes on smooth and clear. Really seals the wood. Helps wood to retain its color. Goes a long way.

This waxy butter like spread did wonders for the wood cutting boards in the household. Easy to spread, not quite like butter, but more like soft wax. It'll be easier to use the next time around as I will know what I am doing better next time. But the cutting boards are better than new. I just gave them a rinse after spreading the butter and they were good to go.

This is a good product for cutting boards, IF you like lemon and rosemary oil, which this product contains in very small, but discernible amounts. I wish the product description would have listed these added oils, but the seller responded very quickly to my question. If you buy this product, know that it has a fragrance from organic lemon and organic rosemary oils.

This is a smooth, viscous, dense yet creamy wax. It's amazing to use. It's not PURFUMEY.
