I specifically like how he anticipates questions that one might have about these strategies. This book will capture you with enjoyable stories from the author's own experiences. The "stage" can do something to people. Whether you are buying this book because of fear or you're already comfortable with speaking and just want to hone your skills, you will realize that this book is just the thing that you need.Mike Acker is the real deal. He is the authority when it comes to speaking. Speak with No Fear is the second book by him that I read. And like with the first, it's very helpful.

Erase The FEAR!
“Your past failures don’t have to mark your present reality.” Isn’t that the truth—such a powerful line. The thing I admired most about this book is how humbly it was written. The author doesn’t hold back in addressing his own shortcomings and how he changed his mindset to overcome them. There’s no lying, here. He clearly states that change won’t happen overnight, but with the right tools, confidence and mindset—the sky’s the limit. It’s strange that when I was a kid I found it easy to act in school plays and speak in front of crowds. When I got older, things got more sticky and unsettling in that department. This book is highly motivational and offers multiple tools and insights to not only better your public speaking, but to also better your life. I’m very glad I purchased this book. One last thing—to “clean” the emotional wounds of our past is absolutely essential in conquering fear and healthily moving forward into the realms of positive change. This ideology is beautifully stated by the author.

Solid advice for overcoming the fear of public speaking
Almost everyone's got a story or a memory of a bad experience public speaking - and this is the currency that the book trades on. It does offer some solid advice for overcoming the fear that public speaking can generate, and how to become a better speaker in general - which the author couches in fairly metaphorical language. For instance, 'Uncover and clean the wound,' refers to finding the traumatising incident that has made you feel public speaking is so unpleasant, and transforming it into something that can be used to make you a better public speaker. Fortunately for everyone involved, the author does recommend getting professional advice if the experience was too traumatic. And here is the main problem with the book - it's an artfully linked sequence of anecdotes about the author, and the author's clients - the problems and pitfalls that they've faced public speaking. Everything's a story - even the advice. 'Uncover and clean the wound' is presented as a strategy with the story that it's what the author's mother used when he was a kid and would beat himself up with his skateboard. Stories are a great way to keep an audience entertained, but some it felt like it was trying to be an entertaining presentation, rather than solid advice from someone who is clearly very good at public speaking.

An Excellent Resource!!!
The author begins with sharing a humiliating childhood classroom speaking incident. This made me remember an similar incident I had. That was it. I was hooked! The author writes in a confident, chatty style that carried me along through the many useful strategies. When it comes to public speaking Mike Acker is an experience professional and it shows. He focuses the book around 7 core strategies. For each one he helps the reader to self-reflect and develop a new mind-set, and practical strategies to make a change.I really liked it that the author started with inviting the reader to pinpoint the speaking wound that was causing their fear and offered ideas to ‘clean this out’ so it no longer had the power to be a barrier to effective public speaking. This book is definitely a keeper.
