WernerEnd Cap Kit - Aluminum Extension Ladder - Model 25-4

I bought these to replace the bottom caps on an old ladder. They were just a bit smaller than the old one but still fit and worked fine. No more sratches on my deck.

These end cap kits work like a charm. I only used the tops. As long as you get the correct measurement between the old screws or rivets and the width of the ladder end, they should fit. I was not concerned about the color. They work a lot better than my wife's socks! I had to drill out the old rivets from the old ends which took just a few minutes. Once in place, it was a matter of minutes to get the supplied screws in place. One person claimed they needed washers. I found that for my use and according to the directions, washers were not needed. By the way, my extension ladder is at least 20 years old and the ends fit perfectly. And, the ladder does not slide on the siding.

Everything was good except I feel the price is too high.

I have a Davidson 405-28 extension ladder, which I got a Home Depot many years ago (Davidson was bought by Louisville Ladders). It is kind of a generic extension ladder. One of the end caps broke off - which was annoying because the ladder then wasn't stable against the house.Looked around a bit and this kit from Werner seemed to met the spec - and it did, as you can see from the photos.They didn't include any washers - but no big deal - just used some I had (the small bolts are 8-32x5/8")Make sure you know what kind of ladder you have - because Werenr as a few different end cap kits (see the attached instructions)

Need thicker plastic, half thickness of original.

My 20' ladder has no labels or other ID marks, but I measured and compared the parts online. My caps were missing but this Werner kit worked. I cannot speak to durability since the kit was just installed, but I should have washers between the head of the bolt and the plastic.
