Siphon Hose, Siphon Pump, 6ft Multi-Purpose Self Priming Pump, Fuel Transfer Pump, Shaker Siphon for Gasoline Fuel Water Transfer

If you have never used a siphon like this before you might struggle at first until you get the hang of it. Basically you put the end in the tank you want to fill, and the metal bearing end into the fuel/water/whatever. This bearing end, once in the container to empty, must still be higher than the other end of the tube. So you might want to place your container on a chair or something.I use it to fill the diesel tank in my boat so as the container is sitting on deck it is automatically higher than the main fuel tank.Put the metal end into the container you want to empty and the other end into the receptacle. Make sure the metal end reaches the bottom of the container and pull it up then push it down again sharply. You will see the fluid come along the tube, once it reaches below the level of the container, you can stop pushing and pulling. The fluids own weight will now take over and empty your container.I used to use an electric pump, but it was slow and I always ended up with diesel spill. I bought a siphon tube like this one but a one that had a bellows type pump at the end and it was hopeless.This one has a glass ball in a metal housing and works perfectly. It was so fast I thought it had failed when the diesel stopped flowing! Dead easy to clean as you take it out too, and comes in a handy little bag for storage. Great buy, works fab, I love it.

The item itself works as it should once you get used to priming it. It works best if the vessel being emptied has some height from the floor otherwise you may struggle given that gravity is required to prime it. The hose is good quality although in colder weather it is difficult to get it to stay in a required position and benefits from running warm water through it first, otherwise it just coils.All in all, does what it says on the tin.

I bought this to replace an old faithful pump siphon to use for emptying water butts, taking the water under the hedges.Firstly the hose was so stiff, I couldn't get in out of it's curled state, even after trying warm water and weighing it down, secondly there were three or four kinks in the hose which I couldn't work out.Despite the above issues, I thought I'd try it out, and it just isn't fit for purpose. Maybe fuel is more viscous, and therefore can be siphoned better than water, but in any case good luck uncurling and de-kinking the hose!

Work as expected ,easy to use , no problems at all so far i would recommend

Avoids getting a mouthful of something you don’t want! Great little tool.
