I use this for my son's hair! He has really nice hair so I like to make sure it's well taken care of. He is mixed with African American, Mexican, and Caucasian so his hair is curly and he likes to keep it long it's important for me to get a strong curl cream that has many good qualities. For me this protects his hair and keeps it moisturized without weighing down his curls or making them crunchy, that being said a little goes a long way and if you add too much it will get those white flakes on the scalp so don't over apply. It's thick so distribute it evenly and focus on the curl patterns rather then the thickness, I have come to find that using really small amounts and focusing on the curls does better then just grabbing a big amounts and rubbing it all over. I have curly hair myself but my mom didn't know how to do my hair so these are things I learned as I grew up and wish I knew. I think it does add shine, but if you are like my son if you sleep rather restless after night 2 it's gonna need a touch up because the frizz will start to happen. I am very happy with the product for smelling nice, providing hold and curl definition, being affordable and lasting awhile I usually buy two jars at once and my sons hair wash days vary between every other day to 3 days and they last me about 4 months but keep in mind he does not have a sensitive scalp so I am not sure on how this product would be with that case and I honestly apply it really thin on his top layer to avoid the flakes that have happened from over applying in the past.

Smells wonderful. Quality was great. Worth the money for sure. Washes out easy. Love that it was not sticky like other hair products.

I like Cantu for my curls as it does not leave a white residue. It does feel stiff when dry but it locks out humidity. I do think it weighs the hair down and is why I do not use it every day anymore. I think it is pricey in the store but more reasonable here. You would have to try it and determine if it is good for your hair type. I think my son has a better grade of hair than me and the product gives me better curls. The product is slippery when washing out in the shower.
