Works for me and I lift very heavy.
I would consider myself to be a fairly advanced lifter. Compared to the average Joe I have a relatively high PR with my top 3 totaling over 1400 pounds. While I’m sure there are better quality belts out there I just admit if you dial this one in right and only use it when you need it I find it to be perfect for me. I’m 240 pounds, 5, 10” on the sticky side and I don’t the XL size offers the perfect range of adjustability to fit my needs. Its thickness offers good support and the clamp is sturdy and so far holds strong even with 500 pounds on my back. Always remember these are never supposed to be comfortable if used correctly so I wouldn’t factor that into your choice but even being a relatively advanced lifter this things functions perfectly.

Comfortable and Durable
Fits great and is comfortable. Velcro is strong and gives great support while lifting.

Good quality, heavy duty and great support.
Heavy duty construction. Only negative is that it is sometimes a little difficult to disengage the clasp.

Great support! You can feel safe and confident that you’re protected. Quality of belt is great and was easy to assemble! Very happy that I was able to do my squats and other leg exercises without any problems. Would definitely recommend this belt. Honestly everything about this belt is great!

Good price on a very good belt.
this belt is a great buy with standard kick over buckle that belts twice the price have. as long as your squats are 400 lbs or less this 8mm belt is all you should need.

IBRO Weightlifting Belt Review
I will be 70 within two months and have been weightlifting since I was 20. Based on this experience, the IBRO weightlifting belt is by far the best belt I have ever used in nearly 50 years of training. The quality of the leather is great, and it feels good around the waist. I recommend this belt without hesitation!
