The original HP battery lasted a little less than 3 years. This replacement battery lasted 21 months, and I am constantly on my laptop for work purposes. For the price, this battery was not too bad to avoid buying a new laptop altogether. The screwdrivers work well, but I recommend a flat head screwdriver or similar tool to help pry the back of HP pavillion 15 open.

When i bought the, nearly a year ago, i was hoping to at least get a few months out of it, before having to buy a new laptop. It's still going strong. They tell you you it takes several cycles of letting it completely die and fully recharge before it holds a normal charge. For me it took closer to 20, but now it will hold a charge for a week or more when I'm not using it, and several hours of use while unplugged, just as the original did.Fir me, the hardest part was getting the laptop open. I wasn't expecting to need special tools for this other than the provided screw drivers. I used a thin flat head screwdriver and watched a few YouTube videos. The case definitely has dings along the edge now, but these are easy to put up with compared to the money I saved.

The battery seems to work alright but it is also seems that it's plagues like the rest of the 3rd party batteries. It doesn't last long and the mAh and wattage hours are alot smaller that whan is stated. The parts it came was a nice gesture but the screwdriver started to strip screws right away. Not at fault but it is a cheap driver. The plastic spudger worked great. Let's see how long the battery holds up. :) it's not the best but still worth it for the price and to get your laptop back up and going.

Directions were perfect, I watched a you tube video on removing the back of my laptop, and the battery was a perfect fit and the connector matched… I would highly recommend this product

[Update: This battery lasted longer than 1/2 the life of my original HP battery, making it a better deal per dollar. The life span was shorter compared to the original battery by about an hour per charge , but not an issue for me since only needed my laptop a few hours away from an outlet at a time at most. Only downside is the first order of this battery failed quickly compared to the original HP version at the end of it's life. One day my laptop reported I needed a new one after using it a few hours as normal failed after attempting a charge (comparatively the HP original stopped charging above an hour in its 5-6 years of service). Still very happy with this and would recommend.]When my old, original HP official battery no longer held a few minute charge, and couldn't keep up with letting power pass through to my PC (I needed to disconnect the old battery to allow the PC to run unhindered using only the power cord) I knew I needed to get a new one. Only thing is being an older PC, I didn't want to invest too much into a new battery. This new battery did the trick.Overall, this battery holds a charge well, and I only occasionally disconnect to go into another room or away from an outlet. The battery life is comparatively a little shorter than when I first got my PC, but it does a great job keeping my PC going when I pull away from the power cord. This is a great price for a good battery. Fit my PC as expected. I see why this came up as an Amazon Choice for this product.Will update later if needed.

I have bought these batteries theee times. The first time I got at least two years out of it. The other two less than a year before they would not take a charge. I have replaced those two with HP originals from their site. They are lasting!!!! Moral of this is for batteries go to your manufacturer for OEM. The ones on Amazon may cost 1/3 the price but you have to replace often. I don’t like opening my laptop anymore than is needed
