Everything an expansion should be.
Dominion Seaside is everything an expansion should be. It builds on what was already a tight and easy to learn game format in a way that offers some new tactics and options without overwhelming you.The new mechanic in this set are duration cards, which stay in play and give you a bonus when you initially play the card and then give you an additional bonus on the subsequent turn. This allows you to plan your upcoming turns in a more constructive fashion than before, giving you extra cards or gold next turn or for example using a tactician to turn your appalling hand of estates, curses and duchys into a much more conducive hand next turn. This set is also pretty thematic, which is something that dominion seems to struggle with a bit. Cards which break away from this, in my opinion, are the treasure map, which will give you a huge pay off, so long as you can find the other half. The pirate ship is also great, allowing you to plunder your opponents, trashing their treasures or using the ship's ill gotten gains for your own purposes. Touches like this really help to make the game step away from the 'play cards to buy cards' paradigm that the base set seems stuck in.As for the components, the cards are of the same quality that you will be used to, good quality card which can stand up to quite a bit of punishment. However I would advise that you get some sleeves, especially due to all the shuffling that this game entails. There are also several mats included which are used with some of the cards and are very thick and don't bend easily. The artwork on them is nice too. The stand out pieces for me however are the coins and embargo tokens which come with the set. They look great and are incredibly high quality, they're made from metal which makes them basically indestructible (unless you are doing something extremely unusual whilst playing dominion). All in all a great expansion which I would highly recommend to anyone who likes the game. This is not a standalone expansion however, so either Dominion or Dominion Intrigue is required to actually play this. Thanks for reading and hope this helps. G

Nice expansion to a fun game
Dominion Adventures expansion is a great addition to your kingdom making, with a bunch of new cards and new gameplay elements its a fun expansion but it does mean it's not quite as simple to pick up and play initially compared to other expansion. This isn't a bad thing, but does mean you might have to reach for the rule book a few times in your first few games to check what your doing is right.Overall some nice new elements help to keep the game interesting and fun to play (& create new engines to try and win against your friends/family/opponents)

Best expansion
Generally considered the best dominion expansion and I whole hearty agree. Other expansions add too many rules for the sake of adding rules, not the case here

A load of Trash!
This expansion adds more cards and hence more variation to Dominion than any of the other expansions. Its main in-game theme is based around the Trash Pile and Trashing. I personally enjoy Trashing, so this is an expansion for me.The game theme is based around being poor--somewhat opposite to Prosperity--and some of the cards have fantastically apt names. For example, the card Rats gives you more Rats every time you use it so your deck quickly gets infested with Rats.It introduces Shelters, which replace the starting Estates to represent your lack of money at the start of the game. One Shelter, Hovel, can trash itself when you buy a Victory Card. This represents your moving out of your decrepit hovel and into your shiny estate. There are cards similar to Intrigue's widely hated Saboteur and Swindler but they are balanced to be less annoying. It seems there are enough Shelters and Ruins (similar to Curses) for six players, so you probably won't need to buy it twice or use blanks for your crazybig games. It also introduces a Supply Pile of ten unique Knight cards, which are named after people that Donald (Dominion's creator) knows. It's quite easy to see why it's his favourite expansion.10/10 would play again

The best game!
We have been collecting all the dominion games for quite some time now. They're just great and it's always a favourite when we have friends round. For a new player, it can be a little tricky to get your head around some of the cards. But once you have the hang of it, you won't be able to stop playing it

As it should have been
I really rate Dominion highly and have many of the expansions. My problem from the beginning with the base sets was the design/colour of the treasure cards. Why would Copper, Silver and Gold all be the same colour?! How did it get through playtesting without someone saying, why is the Silver... not Silver?!Anyway this base card set rectifies that with new treasure, victory, curse, potion and trash cards. Each card has lovely artwork. It is a shame that these cards were not as standard in the base set as for £15 there is nothing new here, just aesthetics. For most people they probably wont mind playing the standard cards but the base set does make it easier differentiating your money and I think it looks a lot nicer.Anyway I give it 4 stars because they are a good addition to Dominion, its just a shame you have to pay £15 for cards I feel should have been in the sets as standard.Just one thing to consider is that the new Victory Cards have the victory points in the bottom right corner of each card. For new players the older Victory cards are probably easier to learn with as it will take a bit of time to get used to the picture difference between Estates, Duchies, Provinces and Colonies. Other than that I would recommend using the new treasure cards straight away.

Totally worth it! Amazing expansion!
Highly recommend this. Have had another expansion but this is a game changer. I know board games don't often appeal to women, and I'm not really a gamer as such, but this is like the best lockdown discovery. I'm completely hooked. Adds another layer to the game. Super satisfying.
