I recently purchased the Biometric Fingerprint Safe, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. This safe is perfect for storing my pistols securely while still giving me fast access when needed. I own a Moutec long gun safe, which I also reviewed. After purchasing a handgun, I was interested in a faster access option. Since I was very happy with my previous Moutec purchase, I looked to see what options they had and decided on the CT01F.By the way, if you are an Amazon Prime member, the purchase price (at least at the time I bought mine) was reduced by $30.The safe arrived well-padded within its box. It has a very nice (at least to my taste) black crinkle finish. It can be opened with a manual key from the back, or with your choice of a fingerprint reader or 4 number PIN pad from the front panel, which also features a battery level indicator.One feature I really like, compared to some other safes, is that the battery holder is accessible from the outside of the safe, enabling them to be replaced without the need to open the safe. A small screwdriver is even provided to access the battery compartment. Be forewarned, the cover plate is spring-loaded with a fairly strong spring and the door may go flying! Fortunately, the screw is captive and will still be there once you retrieve the door!The instructions recommend 4 new AA batteries and none are included, perhaps to make that more likely. I installed a new set, entered the default ‘1-2-3-4’ PIN the safe popped right open. A light on the back of the faceplate lights the interior of the safe for several seconds when it opens, a nice feature since everything is black!The interior tray has the same black crinkle finish as the exterior. The bottom comes with eggcrate type foam to pad your guns – see the photo with my full size S&W – and the interior will easily hold a second full-size handgun.It comes with a mounting plate attached to the bottom, which can easily be changed to the top, so the safe can also be mounted under a desk, nightstand shelf or other easily accessible location, rather than on top. The plate mounts with 6 screws, which are provided.The only real mounting issue that concerned me (and this isn’t mentioned in the instructions) is that you should leave at least 3” of space at the rear of the safe so that it can be opened with the key if for some reason all the electronics fail.The default PIN code is changed by opening the safe and following the instructions with the small blue ‘program’ button at the rear. This was easy to do and any combination of 3 to 8 digits can be used.The fingerprint registration was as easy as resetting the PIN. There are suggestions to follow if you have any problems getting your finger(s) to register. It will hold up to 20 different prints. Clearing all prints to start over is also easy. They suggest re-testing your prints every 6 months of so.All in all, I am very pleased with this safe!

This thing is solid metal, strong quality buttons, accurate finger print reader that lets you make tons of finger print copies so every angle opens. Easy to reprogram and comes with a mount to mount on a desk or under one. Perfect for a night stand and again I can’t stress how impressed I was with the quality for the price. 100% recommend. Keep in mind this is a single handgun staged safe for fast access. You will not fit a second gun unless both are compacts. Left me enough room for my p320, extra mag and some cash

I have only had this drawer safe mounted and using for 1 day, but I have been testing it a lot, I will say so far, I am impressed, if it continues to function as it is today, I will be very happy. the safe came packaged very well. mounting and set up was straight forward, the one thing I will say is be aware the emergency key is in the back, so if you are mounting where the safe is against a wall or cabinet consider access for the key. so, I believe this was a good purchase......time will tell. thank you

This safe works very well for my 9mm pistol, ammo, and two 2 mags. The safe is made for keeping your weapon hard to reach. The material is metal. There are 3 ways to unlock the safe, finger/thumb scan, a keypad and a set of keys (which are kept seperate.) My safe is down low by my bed so I did my finger and then my thumb print upside down, that way, I can open the safe from my bed. With everything in the safe, it is very heavy, your not going to have an easy time taking it. The safe works as discribed. I will buy another one for my living room. I highly recommend for keeping your weapon away from children.
