Eggcellent!
The material the eggs are made from is very good, they feel absolutely real. The old fashioned pot eggs were cold and felt hard, where these feel warm and sheer like a natural egg.

Fooled my hens!
I had a hen that liked to eat her own eggs. I had previously used rubber eggs but they didn't fool her at all and I'm pretty sure you used to bounce them round the coop. These look and feel more realistic. I saw her having a few pecks with no pay off and after a while she has stopped eating her eggs. Highly recommended (but use in conjunction with a mineral boost as lack of this can sometimes encourage hens to eat their eggs).

Items arrived before estimated date, arrived in four days in fact, not sure if they will encourage my ten hens to start laying I only placed them in the nesting boxes today. The eggs do have a join around them but you can clearly see it on the photo and I'm sure the chicks are not intelligent enough to know they are fake. For the money I cant complain, they feel and look real and believe from what I have read they do work. I think it is the time of year that is stopping the hens from laying properly, not enough daylight. My previous hens laid so many eggs I supplied my neighbours and these ones are still fairly young.

We shall see
I must admit to being rather disappointed with my first inspection of these dummy eggs. Contrary to the previous two reviews I have no difficulty telling that they're fake. In fact on coming back here I see I should have taken a closer look at the picture and noticed the seam halfway down the egg where two halves are joined. In my case the join is not as pretty as this picture: the halves have been roughly pushed together with an ugly hard glue smear all around the surface, spoiling the smooth eggy look. I'm wary about using anything aggressive (e.g. acetone) to clean the glue off in case it also lifts the colour. So, I'm just hoping that the hens aren't as picky as me - we shall see![Edit 10Aug] Most of my chooks seem to have started laying this week, and despite being totally free to range, they do seem to be coming back to use the nest boxes I provided, so mission accomplished! They did throw the fake eggs out of the nest a couple of times, so I guess they maybe smell wrong somehow, however they may still have got the right idea across to the hens.[Edit 8Sep] The chooks definitely do think of these as eggs. My coop has three nestboxes, I put one of these in each box. Every now and then I'll find that an ersatz egg has been moved to another nestbox! On researching this I discovered that chickens are communal nesting birds, when enough eggs have accumulated from multiple hens some volunteer will sit on them. Sometimes a hen will borrow eggs from neighbouring nests to make their own nest more attractive to the broody volunteer. Each nestbox has a two inch lip, I've love to know how the hen is getting the fake egg from one box to the other!

$$$ for what it is.
Value for money these are not, but given that all the other options were coming from China and would take the best part of a month to arrive I went for this product. Happy with them? Cant say I am really, they are basically a 2 part plastic egg something like what a toy would come in, that has been sprayed and filled with sand to resemble a chicken egg. They may be more illustrious than my description, but really for the price I wasnt overly enthralled by them. Now as I am using them to teach pullets to lay and stop using the nest boxes as bunk beds and public toilets I hope these work, but only time will tell.

Worked on our chickens
Worked like a charm on our chickens - they've stopped breaking and eating real eggs. The fake eggs do have a seam around the middle, but the chickens haven't noticed (or just don't care, who knows with chickens!)

Perfect and effective
Perfect product... ignore the folks morning about the seam. I wanted them for fake eggs to encourage my hens to lay in the nestboxes, and also to stop egg eating. I’m pleased to confirm this product had succeeded on both counts !
