AL-KAWTHAR Laurel Soap Bars - Natural %30 Laurel Oil, %70 Olive Oil, Traditional Production

This soap works really well, but you have to set aside your usual notion of soap. The bar is 3 inches square, and is a bit unwieldy to handle. You can hold it in one hand and rub it on the other, or just roll it slowly in your hands. It doesn't cut, just chips when you try cut it. But in the end, it's worth it. It has a slightly earthy scent that is mild and doesn't linger. It needs very warm water to lather, but when it does it lathers well. Olive oil does not lather abundantly by itself, and there are no additives to increase bubbliness. I've included photos. It leaves the skin feeling clean, and later, feeling soft. It is made with only 2 ingredients: olive oil (70%) and the maximum amount of laurel oil that Aleppo soap is made with (30%). And you're using something that has been made this way in this place for centuries, including through recent wars. It cures for 9 months before it is sold, so a lot of time and effort goes into making it. Cleopatra is rumored to have used Aleppo soap. It's a hard bar, so it should last a long time.

My skin was noticeably different within a few hours.I bought this soap after hearing it help with body odor and I'm trying to go natural. I got the 30% laurel version. I've tried several different types of products and this works really well, with an alum stone.What really surprised me was how smooth my skin looked after using it. Later the same day I started using it, I noticed the texture of my skin was softer and some irritation i had on my arms looked more calm. A few days later and the irritation is almost gone. I didn't buy the soap for that, so I wasn't expecting it.It has a nice traditional soap smell and lathers really well. Your skin might feel like that squeaky clean feel, but it doesn't strip your skin or dry it out. I think it's because of the olive oil it leaves on your skin, which is moisturizing and helps inhibit bacteria growth. It's also huge. One soap square is probably equivalent to about two standard irish springs/dove soap bars. I took this picture from the side so you can see how tall it is. A regular soap bar usually hits around that black bar in height.I recommend trying this soap!

Aleppo soap is my new go-to must! This makes your skin feel so luxurious and soft. The scent is different but not overbearing. Definitely gets you clean while moisturizing your skin.

It is most likely a wonderful soap, but the smell is unpleasant

It seems like a good soap, and I picked it because I was dying for the laurel leaf smell and this product's description promised the highest quantity of laurel oil. But: this product arrived with no wrapping??? I did find a tiny thin piece of ripped plastic in the giant box that Amazon threw this soap into, even though I checked the selection to have it shipped ALONE. Value for money? Its kind of expensive! $10 for a bar!!! Effect on skin: ZERO, its SOUP wth? Smell: yes it smells like laurel leaves. Moisturizing: haha NO because it's SOAP.
