Tastes a heckava lot like coffee to me!!
WOW! Just got my Subscribe and Save box for this month with my first bag of this. I immediately put a couple tablespoons of the tiny seeds into the coffee grinder and ground them finely - like Turkish grind for coffee. Then I brewed up a 16 oz. cup using a porcelain pour over. Yum!! Other reviewers said things like "of course it doesn't really taste like coffee," but, I gotta say, it tastes very much like coffee to me!! I crave coffee but my body just can't take it - it makes me jittery and even more tired (my adrenals and nervous system have been through the wringer). This is the most coffee-like tasting coffee substitute I've ever tasted. I mean, I really think it could pass for coffee. Yuuum.UPDATE:Okay, so I ground my entire first bag into a very fine grind and have really been enjoying it everyday. I haven't been able to drink coffee for years and I really look forward to this every morning. Yesterday, I got my second bag and I decided not to grind it up right off. Instead I tried brewing it as they suggest on the package. I took 2 TBSP and put it into a french press and let steep for at least 5 minutes. Then I pressed it and tried it. Uck! Really, in my opinion, barely worth drinking. It tasted like bad, weak coffee substitute. So, really, ya'll you have GOT to grind this more finely and use a pour over. That's what really makes it fantastic! It doesn't taste acidic like coffee; it's rich and mocha-chocolaty and yummy! Cheers!

Great Alternative to Coffee
Very good! I love coffee but dont like to drink it in the evening for sleep reasons. I still like warm drinks similar to coffee later in the day and this one is so good! It has a slight “nutty mocha” flavor and a nice coffee- like look and bitterness. Will it taste just like coffee? No. Nothing but coffee will but if you cant have coffee this fulfills that coffee ritual without the caffiene. Its pricey but the quality is excellent. To make it:You can just scoop a tablespoon per cup of water in your coffee press or coffee maker as you would coffee. I, however, have found that you get a more robust flavor if you bring the same ratio of this to water on the stove to a boil and then pour into your french press and wait about 5 min before you plunge it. I have a nice healthy chaga powder I add sometimes and or cocoa powder if I really want it mocha flavored. Its great with coffee creamer or milk, too. Overall, very pleased.

You Won't Be Certain it's Not Coffee
Instructions say 1-2 tbsp per two cups. I used 9 tablespoons to make a full 12-cup pot in my conventional drip coffeemaker. The grounds are very light in color before brweing but it made coffee that was rich, dark, and surprisingly complex. It lacks a bit of the punch/bite of coffee, but it is remarkably coffee-like, much more so than other coffee substititutes I have enjoyed, such as Postum (RIP), Kaffree Roma, and Cafix. Had this been served to me as coffee, I'm not sure I would have said "this isn't coffee" or even "this coffee tastes different." One note of caution - black coffee has essentially no calories, but this has 30 calories per cup. I'm not sure of the value of the claimed nutrients in this nut, but that may be a nice rationale for the calories. Anyhow, it's a bit pricey but a GREAT coffee substitute for those like me who need to avoid the caffeine or the acidity.

Good, but not great for a cold drink.
This tastes pretty good. I used three teaspoons in my 4 cup coffee pot like I do for coffee. It's a little sweet and not as robust as chicory. The jury is still out on whether this aggravates acid reflux issues.Update: not a good option with acid reflux for me... But, it's said that everyone has different triggers, right? Some dust erupts when it's disturbed/spooned into the coffee pot unlike coffee, chicory, Caffix, Dandy Blend, etc. The label says it can be used as a flour, so that might be more typical of that type of product.

Good flavor, and good price.
This is the first time I've tried this particular brand, and I love it. I've had the actual Copomo brand, and really liked the flavor, but it's too expensive for every day drinking. I've also tried a few different flavors of the Teeccino brand coffee alternatives, and though this is labeled under Teeccino Caffe Inc as the seller, I much prefer this. I've also tried Crio Bru, which I didn't care for at all. This particular maya nut drink tastes much more like coffee than the others, however, it doesn't actually taste like a regular cup of coffee. So if you're looking for coffee that isn't coffee, you might be disappointed. I have been using 2Tbsp in my drip coffee maker, and filling the water just above the 4c line. That seems to make the perfect one cup. I put a bit of coconut cream in it, and it's perfect. The flavor isn't too weak, and still has some depth. I'm devastated to see that it's now out of stock. I've gone through my bag faster than expected, and just came to order another, and sadly am not able to! Hoping it will be back soon.

Great coffee alternative
I've tried every coffee alternative going back as far a Postum and none were a satisfying alternative until this became available. No caffeine, no odd flavors as the other alternatives all seem to have, reported to have beneficial antioxidants, few to no calories as coffee or tea. The grind on this brand works perfectly in Keurig single serve with reusable filter. The other brand available of same product is ground too fine and plugs up that filter but would probably work fine in a pour over type filter. I drink espresso and also like a full bodied coffee that is smooth like 100% Kona. The strength and body of this alternative can be adjusted by how much you use and how you brew it such as filtered or unfiltered etc., so you have choices to make it to your liking.

Too dark of a roast
I've enjoyed roasted Ramon nut before and this one is way too dark! Tastes burnt to me. I'd love to see them offer a medium or light roast. Seems like it could be negatively impacting health to be so oxidized.Plus you can't eat the grounds like other brands I've tried.
