Electrical box has just enough room for an Enbrighten Z-Wave fan controller
I bought this fan to circulate air in a greenhouse, and I wanted it to be connected to our home automation. After experimenting, I discovered that the electrical box on the fan would just barely fit an Enbrighten Z-Wave fan controller inside and still have room for the fan's capacitor. After some work, I got it to fit and work excellent. I have the controller connected to the medium wire on the fan so it can run at extra-low speed for light, nearly silent circulation. It works great.Out of the box, I really appreciated the build quality. It comes with a power cable with an electronic safety, which is nice, but the safety switch resets and disconnects power to the fan in any power loss to the safety switch. The fan is properly grounded, and a separate ground wire connects the box to the motor. The fan has two bolts on the sides for tensioning the movement of the fan's angle, and it includes two plastic knobs to adjust it, but the knobs do not fasten to the fan. They came loose with twist ties around them. It would make more sense if they could be fixed to the tensioning bolts, and I suppose they could be adhered somehow.

Great, except for the plug.
I just put up two of these, they seem well-made and work great. To the person who said these are "held together with zip-ties," that is not correct. The zip-ties were only used for packaging. The fan feels very sturdy. As for the GFCI plug, if you plug these into a hard-to-reach or switched outlet, the plug has to be reset every time you plug it in or turn the outlet power back on.Others have said the GFCI is "very sensitive," but what really seems to be the case is that the manufacturer used a GFCI plug containing what's known as a "self-latching circuit." What this means is when you "reset" the GFCI, electricity flowing into the plug powers a relay that "latches" the circuit in the on position. When that power is removed, the relay turns off, "unlatching" itself. Subsequently, the next time you plug in the GFCI (or switch your outlet on), the first thing you have to do is press the RESET button (turning that "latching relay" back on).Don't take this as professional advice, but if you're already plugging this fan into an outdoor GFCI outlet, it's probably OK to cut off the included plug and replace it with a weatherproof plug from the hardware store.

Great product, well worth it
This fan has been a life saver for the chickens in our backyard pen. It is powerful and quiet. We were able to hang it securely from the top of the run to blow down on them. Has so far been water proof and functions well.

Lots of Power Lots of Air Movement
I hung this from a palm tree on my property, and directed it towards a table. It is quite powerful, even on the lowest speed, and the air movement not only cools you down, but it also gets rid of mosquitoes, which are quite extensive in South Florida. I recommend it. Now, lets see how long it lasts being subject to water and humidity!
