Supurb Product & Excellent Packaging
I was looking for a replacement bulb for my torchiere lamp, giving the fact of such excellent Price (Free Shipping) & after reading all the wonderful reviews i decided to order 2.I was very well delighted how the Seller took so much care in Packaging each bulb individually in bubble wrap, then put into the box securely within a box. The packaging itself was beyond Superb.Bulb itself worked flawless, Bright & I heard no buzz or hums. Although this bulb was like 1/8 of a inch shorter then my original, to me it was no problem at all to correct. all i had to do is adjust the contact points on my lamp forward,Nothing at all to do with the bulb itself.I highly recommend this Bulb

I needed light and for awhile, I had light......
Purchased this bulb from Amazon LLC on September 14, 2014 for $3.99. Moderate+ use in home office. Always buzzed if tried to use too bright. Stopped working last week without warning. One of two filament thingies appears to have burned out. This is my first experience buying any Halogen replacement bulbs but hey, it's not rocket science, you know what I mean? So bought based on need for light and settled on this one because it was cheap, shipped quick with Prime and it seems to have worked ot great for most folks, but for me, not so much. So, once again I find myself in need of light. Considering it is -5 degrees here, a stroll through Target is not going to happen. Perhaps I'll do some online browsing for a new floor lamp that uses a more predictable, dependable and silent 3-way light bulb. Or perhaps I'll do my part to conserve energy and just click "Buy" right now and give this guy a second chance.

Great bulb used with the ORE International 3030BK Torch Lamp
Been using it for just under a month with the ORE International 3030BK Torch Lamp. This bulb replaced the standard 190-watt bulb included with the lamp. It is significantly brighter than the standard bulb. The bulb does get hot fairly quickly however, the heat doesn't carry further than a foot or so from the lamp head. Very pleased with the purchase as these halogen lamps have been hard to find lately.

Bright bulb demands caution.
Puts out a lot of light. Need to be careful using in cheaper Halogen floor Torchiere models. Most newer models are lower wattage (190 W) due to dangers of fire with the 300 Watt bulbs. Either use in more expensive, rated models or do not put onto max level with dimmer switch in cheaper models. Also, do not leave cheaper models with higher wattage bulbs unattended while on. Drawback is that bulb is noisy when not at full luminosity and may cause interference with nearby audio equipment.

Good replacement
This is a good replacement for the quartz lamp that burned out. It is working fine. I can't attest to its longevity yet.

Be aware of the rating of your fixture
This bulb is a great source of light. Be aware of the rating of your fixture. This bulb get very hot. The 150 watt bulb is best for most fixtures. It does not get as hot. The 300 watt bulb melted the points on my fixture. I had to use the 150 watt bulb. It works best. I love the light the 300 watt bulb put out but it gets very hot. We are using the 150 watt bulb in both fixtures and find them very satisfactory in office settings.

Worth the extra money
After going with the cheaper halogen bulbs for a while, I tried this one. A couple of big differences:- Long bulb life. The cheaper brands last for a few months if that. This bulb looks a little different form other halogens of this size (although it fits fine in the lamp), with a thicker filament by the look of it, which may account for the difference in bulb lifetime.- No buzz! The plague of halogen lamps is that, while they have a dimmer, the lamp buzzes annoyingly if the dimmer is turned down. With this bulb, there is almost no buzz, even with the lamp almost off. (You can hear a little buzz if you're right on top of the lamp, but move a couple of feet away and it's unaudible.)Quality German engineering for the win.
