Decibella and Her 6-Inch Voice, 2nd Edition (Communicate with Confidence) Paperback – Picture Book, June 6, 2023

I used this book to teach kindergarten students about using our inside voice. It breaks down various levels of volume in a funny and easy to understand way. It is a little long for those with shorter attention spans, but my students loved it.The book came in excellent shape with no creases or damage.

Saw another teacher use this book to teach kids about lowing their voice and the Importance of voice levels in class and my kids LOVED IT!I teach PreK and they found the character relatable and the book fun.

Julia Cook has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I am a teacher and I believe she has the most perfect books to help with classroom management. I hope to continue to build my collection of her books to use throughout the school year. They are a meaningful, fun, engaging way to help communicate a message to young children. This book talks about the importance of various noise levels not only in the classroom, but every where!

I got this for my 4 year old son, who talks loud CONSTANTLY. The lesson and story in this book is good, but I was losing him BOUT 3/4 the way through. It's probably better for older kids, but I needed it now. Lol. Reading this still helped though and my son now lowers his voice when I ask him to use his 6 inch voice.

Neat book with a great theme for use in grade school for teaching social skills.Fun, great pictures, age appropriate.

I absolutely loved this book. It went great for fifth graders on teaching them about different voice levels in the classroom.

I work as a BA (behavioral assistant), which means I work spend a lot of time working with kids. Some of them find it difficult to manage their voice levels, and communicate effectively. I purchased Decibella as I hoped that I could use it In my sessions with some of my younger youth and that it would help me show them proper ways to communicate. I have to say that my one youth in particular LOVED this book. We read it several times, and as we read it we practiced the different voice levels. She loved this book so much that she asked to borrow it and kept it for 2 weeks! In addition there are plenty of art activities on pintrest that you can look up to go along with the book, which we did, and I was able to keep my youth engaged in the topic by extending the projects into another session, which also helped us focus on the topic a bit longer. I highly recommend this book for any one who is working with children, or has children that struggle with proper communication.
