Always had trouble with other Smart plugs, sometimes because of the 5g issue and routers not always enabling 2.4ghz. This plug was set up in less then 2 mins and has worked immediately with a quick response time. Finally a Smart plug that's decent, I'll be swapping all of my plugs to this one soon as most of them have stopped responding

I've had these plugs for a little under 2 weeks. So far they've been great, once it's set up I can just forget about it. I've got one setup on a schedule to power on and off daily, which is used to power a bug zapper so that's it's on during a time where I need it to be on. It's reliably working on time so it's one less thing to worry about forgetting to turn off at night.It uses the Smart Life (Tuya) app which I've had for other products before, but what I like about this one is that you can also get a rough idea of the power consumption from whatever is connected to this by day/week/month/yeah, alongside the "current", "power", and "voltage" readings as they're happening (not as a graph though).And lastly, for my own reason for buying this aside from the scheduling convenience, it works over a 5GHz band. Which from other plugs that I've bought, require you to split your Wi-Fi bands between 2.4GHz and 5GHz (at least in my case) for them to work. Whilst not an issue, I'd rather leave the bands combined and auto-switch when I need.

I ordered a smart plug from a different manufacturer last week. I discovered it only worked on 2.4GHz.It was impossible to connect to my router which is dual band. This smart plug from EIGHTREE works on 5GHz or 2.4GHz. It took me 10 minutes to set up and connect to ALEXA. I only have ALEXA on my TV but it works perfectly. It is connected to a standard lamp so I can turn it on using voice control or if I'm away I can turn on the lamp using the app. I am 75 years old but found it easy to connect.

Like many others, I have a dual router (2.4 & 5 ghz) Many of my 2 4 ghz plugs stopped working once disconnected through power outage and wouldn't reconnect.I hoped that these 5 ghz would be the solution. Firstly there is actually an instruction leaflet included, which is becoming unusual. There were three methods of connection to choose from and I tried them all several times without success, it was particularly frustrating that the message "make sure you connecting using 2.4 ghz" kept appearing. If I could connect to 2.4 ghz I wouldn't have bought these. After about 10 attempts I actually got the plug to show on the app but it still wouldn't connect. I think I eventually managed to connect by blipping the blue tooth on my phone. Once connected the app is great, very easy to programme and versatile including a random setting.The 2nd plug, worked immediately, connecting in seconds.However it was very difficult to get the appliance plug into the smart plug unit, it felt like I was forcing it in.In summary reasonable price, appears well made and app control excellent, but it wasn't easy to set up, although worth the effort.

I'm too lazy to write many reviews, but these are great.I'd struggled for a while with my old 2.4 GHz smart plugs, needing to split the wifi into separate 2.4 / 5 GHz networks, which nevertheless still remained erratic.Then I switched to Vodafone - only to learn that fire reasons known only to them, they prevent the splitting of the WiFi. Which effectively left me with a dozen useless smart plugsSo I bit the bullet and tried these.Connected within seconds. Set up completely in a couple of minutesSo I bought more - and once again, process was smoother than an oil slick on iceAfter months of frustration, all now working easily again!

They are very easy to set up. The free app is simple and hasn’t caused any problems yet. I’ve only had them a month or so but I’m going to get more.The button on it means it can be controlled locally, or you can switch on or off on the app, or set schedules. Can add them to a room collection too to make things simpler. Just hope it continues like this, I’m really pleased. Cheaper than Hive but still a bit pricey but I think they’re good value for money as work well and look well built.I’ve used them for lights and a heater and an extension lead for the Christmas lights.

I bought these because they are 5Ghz, which is the setting on my router. All others I have seen are 2.4Ghz and I do not want to change my router settings. I've had similar ones to these, but 2.4Ghz and I did manage to eventually get them to connect to my router, but lately they have been playing up. I'm so pleased with these 5Ghz ones. They were picked up on the app immediately and installed within seconds. So useful and work brilliantly with Alexa. Setting them up to come on and go off at specific times was very easy too. The price for 4 was also great.

Got a set of 4 while the price was reduced to try out. Our original eleven 2.4ghz sockets wouldn’t work when we changed our broadband provider & got a snazzy hub which is impossible to set to 2.4. (All our other 2.4 devices connected fine). The first 4 of these EightTree ones set up like a dream, so I ordered a second set. All 8 are working great so far. These are the easiest smart devices I’ve ever set up. Just plugged in, pressed till I heard the click & light started flashing, opened SmartLife app & it found & connected in less than a minute. Alexa then found & connected in no time. Highly recommend & will be getting more soon.
