Q: Is the foam high-density or kind of soft?

I found it to be too soft for what I needed and ended up replacing it with high density foam after the fact.. That said, we travelled internationally and the baggage handlers are not kind.

Q: is this the pic and pluck foam?

Yes. I use it for my in ear monitors. Its perfect!

Q: can anyone reccomend locks?

I used two keyed master brand padlocks. I don't recall the model but they're the ones with the brass body. Just get one that will fit through the hole. Two padlocks will give you added security.

Q: Looking for the 2 pistol 2 layer polymer foam

I use the pelican insert with the small square cut grid pattern that you modify to fit your handgun. Two of those with thin foam sandwiched between and on the top and bottom. Ive also cut the foam - what works best is an electric carving knife.
