Stupendous sound! (With suitable DAC/amp)
These speakers are excellent if you demand high quality sound and fidelity within your motorcycle helmet. I started with the SENA 50S, then the CARDO Packtalk PRO, and I even purchased the SIPHON SOUNDPRO system. Over $1100 total and never being satisfied with the sound quality when listening to my music (I ride alone and listen to music - communications is secondary to me). You cannot get "premium" sound from any SENA, CARDO or SIPHON system despite what the sexy advertisements claim. The reason is because you need two things: speakers that are made of quality components (think of car speakers - rubber/metal vs paper/plastic) and more importantly a high output bluetooth DAC/AMP. I'm able to achieve audiophile quality sound with these IASUS Xsound4 speakers and a Qudelix 5K bluetooth DAC/AMP (https://a.co/d/0lflxWo) The Qudelix 5K is smaller than the CARDO/SENA/SIPHON units. These speakers (as well as the Cardo/JBL 45MM) require a high output amp if you want to be able to increase the volume (wearing earbuds) and get clean undistorted bass and music. My setup costs $230 and I used some 3M Dual Lock Velcro (https://a.co/d/iI8mZVb). The sound is excellent - clear, punchy bass that resonates through the helmet and clean treble at high volumes. I'm finally happy!Be careful when choosing a bluetooth DAC/AMP - there are many out there that sell for $20-$80. These are pretty much the same amp circuits used by SENA/CARDO to keep costs low. They are little more than bluetooth dongles and don't have enough output power to drive 45MM speakers like these. In other words, don't expect excellent sound by just replacing your stock CARDO/SENA speakers with these or the JBL 45mms. Siphon had the right idea to provide a solution for music lovers - the soundpro speakers can reach high volumes but it is so distorted and noisy that it's not worth the $200.Final note on these IASUS speakers:They are thick because of the driver components used. The install is tricky. Take your time and you'll be rewarded with awesome sound!

Not for me.
Meh. Not better than the stock 40mm jbl that come with cardo. Didn't bother getting amp.. little cups don't really seem to do much. Thought it would replace/supplament my custom in ear monitors. They don't. Returned them. Furthermore it was a pain trying to get them to fit in Alpinestars r10 helmet. Sound quality was pretty good. Not the subwoofer type bass described..

Much better than the Cardo JBL Speakers
I run a Cardo edge with the Iasus Ear3H amp and these XSound4 speakers. I also wear earplugs when riding. They are PUNCHY and have a lot of bass. You can feel the bass vibrate in your helmet and against your ears with this speaker paired with an amp. The JBL speakers don’t get nearly as loud without causing a lot of distortion. The bass on the JBLs is also weak, Even when tested with an amp. With the XSound4, I’m able to crank the volume knob up to about 80 percent on the amp without any distortion. After that, it starts to get distorted but you really don’t need it any louder. Being able to increase the volume that much makes it so I can hear music clearly no matter the wind or speed I’m going. I also ride a naked bike so I’m getting a lot of wind when riding.I’ve noticed these speakers naturally have more bass when compared to the Cardo so I did adjust my EQ settings to have less bass to compensate. It sounds perfect to me on most genre songs when using both Spotify’s EQ Bass Reduction setting and Cardo app’s bass boost setting.Overall, I highly recommend it only if you plan on running an amp in your set up. JBL and Xsound4 are about on par without an amp. I do not think the Cardo alone can make use of the potential of these speakers. With an amp, there is a clear winner. So if you’re looking for an upgrade for your Cardo, an amp is a must otherwise you’re better off just sticking with the JBLs that came with it.

Absolutely better than the CARDO JBLs
Like any of these speakers, it takes time to get placement right. These absolutely have better bass respons than the JBLs and with the silicone comfort surround I didn't have to get the speakers uncomfortably spaced out and pressed into my ears to get the audio I want at speed. I would absolutely recommend them if only for the comfort cushion to get a good fit. I ride with either no noise or custom molded earplugs and have these installed in an Arai Quantic hooked to a CARDO Edge.
