So basic. and not for a 3 year old or even adult.
My 3-year-old didn't understand it, and I didn't enjoy it either. I thought it would be a good introduction to coding, but it wasn't. I'd prefer to get the game Simon instead to help her practice and test her memory.

Fun Learning Programming for Young Children
The TaleBot Basic Robot Toy is great for young children, especially those just under 5 years old (although my 8-year-old was having fun playing with it as well! The robot buttons/controls were pretty easy for my 5-year-old to learn and he was going through the challenge book and having a blast. They also were having a ton of fun with the song and dance mode. The robot also comes with a deck of cards and some maps for the kids to play games with. The great thing about this robot is that it is very simple and easy for kids to understand and get used to. I highly recommend it as a first robot or experience with programming for young children.

Stuck going in circles
The media could not be loaded. We just put new batteries in and it's been going in circles and otherwise unresponsive. We can't seem to fix it. Tried to turn it on and off.. tried different batteries.. it keeps doing the same thing.

Great first robot
This is such an easy little robot to use. And what makes it great is it's a fun little toy that can be used for a variety of Ages. My 4-year-old plays with this and my 9-year-old. It's not super loud which makes things really easy and it's smooth all around the edges so it's very soft. It has been dropped a couple of times but I'm surprised by its durability. The little kid itself is really nice because basically you're going to tell the robot which direction it's going to move. It does have a little map that you can put it on and it has some challenge card quests so you can practice with the robot. That's my favorite thing for my daughter to use. My son on the other hand has created his own little Maps there are more extensive and a lot more fun for him. He just loves to make the robot move around and basically make it dance. So the variety is really there and would definitely be perfect for beginners with robots. Absolutely happy with this little thing.

Okay
I recently wrote and astonishing review on the MatataStudio Tale Bot Pro. I also picked up this basic robot version as well. I wanted to give it a little longer to test before I really submitted my review. I will just start off by saying just skip this basic one and just spend the little bit more to get the pro version. To start off the Talebot robot is AWESOME. Its design is super cool and the activities are really cool as well and it does do a lot of things. The Talebot robot basic is about 1.5x in size compared to the pro. Much bigger. It does run off batteries as well instead of charging like the pro. It does mostly the same things but the pro has volume control as well as they both have different types of music to dance to. With the basic I was having the most difficult time to actually get it to work properly. Unfortunately (maybe because of the size difference) it wouldn't go on the mats properly and I would have to keep moving it back to the start to start again. lets say I would program it to go forward 3 spots and then right 2 spots. Well it would go forward 2.5 spots instead, turn and go forward 1 spot then say "uh oh take me back to the zoo entrance" because it wasn't in the proper spot. I tried this on multiple different floor types and altitudes. It still didn't work. The pro does also come with lots of accessories that won't work with the basic. Just skip this basic one. The pro is AMAZING but this one just is lacking in so many areas.

Great, fun and good for kids willing to learn the basics of programming.
The media could not be loaded. This programming robot is super fun. We got it for our son and he loved it!One of the positive things is that has no limit to programming since other robors have a limir or they replace the codes between themselves. If you didn't like the code you made, simply delete it with the "X" button or you can delete one by one, since it is not possible with others. With this bot you can do several things, among them you can make drawings, it is best to use Crayola brand markers, since they are what look best on it.It is also compatible with Lego and it is super fun that they can add Lego pieces to dress it up.It can also record your voice for up to 10 seconds. It also has a light strip where it lights up in color according to the button you programmed.I found it quite fun and my children also had a good time playing with it.It's pretty good for kids who want to learn the basics of programming.Well recommended
