Idebenone Serum 1 fl. oz / 30 ml/Synthetic Coenzyme Q10

I had mixed feelings about this serum initially but after using for a few weeks I conclusively do like this a lot.It's definitely not the usual serum and being orange tinted and having light skin, I was concerned it might add an orange hue to my skin. It does add a slight glow but not too or synthetic looking, especially once mixed with makeup.Speaking of adding this to foundation, the instructions suggest this and it doesn't seem to negatively effect the foundation or make it sticky or diluted. I kind of actually prefer when I do have a few drops added as opposed to not, as my foundation looks more even and smoother.This is great for preventing sun damage too and the active ingredient (synthetic Ubiquinone Q10) is beneficial for many reasons. According to studies and information I found:It is an antioxidant, prevents dryness and accelerates collagen. It is critical for cellular energy production as well as targeting ageing at a cellular source. Supposedly more effective than CoQ10 taken orally.Yes I researched before using this.This, like most skincare products, does take time to see noticeable improvements. It is shown that after applying daily for 6 weeks, skin roughness is greatly improved, as is fine lines/wrinkles and photo damaged skin. Basically damage from UV & environmental factors such as cigarette smoke, heat, air pollutants etc.Ubiquinone is fascinating and something that is has been studied with very positive results.This is a Korean made product which are more often than not extremely good quality,and there is no noticable scent.Hopefully I didn't bore anyone with my research but I felt it was important to note key benefits proven by studies. I like and thinks it's a good thing to know what our skin is absorbing as well as how it could potentially aid my skin. I am 46, so there's no better time than now to keep my skin as healthy as possible and keep that collagen going and those crows feet limited :)

Idebenone delivers a new level of skin rejuvenation that I cannot get from AHA, Vitamin A & C, or other cosmeceuticals because of its unique mode of action. This serum works to repair and rejuvenate my skin.I’ve only been using Idebenone for two weeks, and on average it takes three weeks to start noticing results and 6-8 weeks for the WOW results.I apply this serum by mixing three drops with my usual moisturizer in the morning and at night.However, for the first four days, I only used it at night. I have sensitive skin, so I needed to ensure the serum wouldn’t cause any irritation.I find if I want results, I must be consistent and patient. I have some skin damage on both sides of my face due to years in the sun as a young person surfing on the east coast. This was even after being pretty diligent about using sunscreen as the alternative was pretty painful. I’ve had this serum for about a month now and have been treating the spots on my face with this 2-3 times a week (not nightly). I’ve been applying it directly to my skin with a q-tip and then applying my normal nightly moisturizer over it before I go to bed. I have experienced some irritation with this method, but this usually passes. I have noticed some lightening of the brown spots and softening of other skin abnormalities. I’ve also mixed this with my lotion on my hand and applied it to other dry spots with definite improvement noted in those spots, more so than with my lotion alone. So initial impressions are good and I have experienced some subtle but positive results.Update 12/09/2024After about 6 months of using this I have seen some positive skin changes for problem areas on my face and other portions of my body. In addition to applying to my face I have some dry spots on my knees and legs that I have treated on about a weekly basis. One spot in particular was a raised dry spot that has completely faded away to be almost gone. I have modified my application to once a week. There were also some skin imperfections on my face that I have added to the mix for treatment that have started to disappear. I have never done a chemical peal but I would say the experience that I have with this is similar, so I really try to work the serum in with some Eucerin Lotion prior to bedtime and limit it to once a week. Based on the positive results I have increased my start rating to 5 and would definitely recommend.

The serum's consistency is more on the thicker side, not very absorbent (oily), & leaves a slight yellow cast on skin, so I used it only at night. I used it on a daily basis for about a week & a half. The negative results are: 1) my skin would eventually felt a slight tingly sensation upon application; 2) slight redness appeared in the morning; 3) slight burning sensation when washing it off in the morning. Despite the above effects the positive result is: I do see noticeably clearer, more even toned, & smoother skin. Disclosure caveat: I have been using tretinoin cream up to using the serum, but not together. Takeaway: Decrease the usage & intermittently alternate w/other skincare products, if you use others.
