A longer soak would result in bigger (and heavier) bags.Great value for money and the Quality and structure of the bags is terrific.

This product did not blow up when wet, it did not seem to absorb water, but even flat it did stop some water from running down the path.

Actually, I hope I don't need these flood water barriers, but one only has to watch TV to see the devastation caused by flooding in the home. It is something I absolutely, positively, do not want to happen to me.These are not going to work against a major inundation, but they may buy time if the water is gently lapping at the doorstep. I suspect if you had a suspended floor these would be much less effective as the water could find its way in from every direction. My house sits on a concrete raft so protecting front and back door should be much more effective.The bags are packed in a vacuum sealed bag which reduces them all to a 16" x 16" by about 1" solid slab. It takes up almost no room at the back of the hall cupboard. The bags are not really peace of mind, but they help.

Five Speedwellstar Flood Barrier Bags. The first question that came to mind was how can you realistically review these bags in Summer, and with my wife not letting me flood the garden. Anyway, I gave them a good soak as per instructions. The bags expanded, absorbing the water, and after about an hour they each weighed about 12 kgs. They were easy to handle and seemed to be made from strong material. I even tried dropping one from chest height and it remained intact.They certainly do what was advertised and could be priceless when protecting against flood water.My only concerns are that they are made of super absorbent polymers and what happens after use. No instructions were included with regard to disposal and environmental issues.Compared to sand bags, they are very expensive but take up considerably less storage space.Although they do the job as stated, I have problems recommending them until further information is available.

These bags come in a plastic bag and are quite large (16"x16" wide by around 1" thick). Smaller than keeping filled sand bags though.When water comes-a-lapping at your door, you tie these together and lay down in the water's path (or in the water itself). They expand up a few inches by absorbing water and will certainly help prevent it proceeding to a degree. The trouble is the water needs to be there already, and if tow layers are required, you'd have to get them wet and pile them up rather than wait for it to get the dry bags.Good for when water's already there (unless you want to get them wet and pile up in advance). You can't pile them like sandbags otherwise, so need to be there when water comes.Can't be reused but could save a lot of money and damage.

Great bags I can say for such price.Large in size, super to use them for fload.Excellent absorbency, can absorbt lot of water.Its 5 in pack, will be enough for door use.Im very happy with the product.So surely can recommend them to all.
