It works great but only one way
You must use the side the adapter is plugged into, as the side your device is plugging into. I wish I could’ve just hid this adapter by plugging it into the wall socket side— but unfortunately you cannot. For this I’ve given 4 stars but other than that it works as it should.

Do not buy. They don’t work.
Those 2 don’t work at all.Story: I bought new iPad. Old Apple Pencil happens to be not compatible, which btw Apple promises not being the case. This supposed to be solution. Connector between C port and lightning. It did not work but I thought it is Apple fault again…Then…My new Apple (again) EarPods started doing strange things disconnecting from my laptop at work and changing volumes on teams conferences so I thought I will try to go back to wired set. Here is final bit: I used THOSE 2 CONNECTORS on laptop, and iPad. Wired earphones DON’T WORK. Neither of the devises “see” them. I check if the wire set is working when connected directly via lightning port without this connector and the answer is Yes. And all of it discovered because of APPEL ISSUES … waisted money.

It’s intended use in simple terms
I bought it to use as an adapter to connect my sandisk to my new iPad because it has is new usbC and so my old sandisk which I use to keep my photos on , it just plugged in to my old iPad and uploaded my photos , but it,won’t fit in the new iPod ,so I thought I was buying a “ connector “ to bridge the gap. However though i bought a usbC to lightening and my sandisk fits in it and the connector fits in my new iPad ,it doesn’t work ,but I don’t know why it must be for another intended purpose , I still don’t know why it is I’ve bought and what it does , if you could tell me in simple terms please ?

Works fine
I bought this as the charging cable on my VW Golf was the lightening type and as I upgraded my iPhone I could no longer charge my phone in the car as I needed a USB C. This works just fine. I would have preferred a longer lead but in fairness it's pretty much the same length as the lightening cable.
