Great Unit with nice features.
Very Happy with this. Heats up quickly and the standby mode when you place it in its holder is a nice feature. Would definitely get this over a TS100 any day (I have a TS100 and while it is nice, this unit is far superior for the same money).

Almost Perfect
The media could not be loaded. Heats up FAST! Cools down in a few minutes many different tips to choose from, feel and control are excellent.But why is the Makita Version Milwaukee Red??!! I “had to paint mine so it wouldn’t stand out like “a red headed stepchild”One very important modification that needs to be done is to disassemble the cover for the Soldering Iron’s connector and fill it with silicone to prevent the wires from shorting out. Over time the insulation on the individual wires will migrate back from thr plug connections eventually they can short out and this will blow the board. It happened with 2 other Quicko Soldering stations that I’ve owned.

Heats almost instantly and portable
So far, I’m loving this thing. It has a convenient gun rest on the side, heats-up almost instantly, and has a nice feel in the hand. I like the extra tips included as well. I really like the fact that this thing is portable, so I’ll be able to use it in the car, outside applications, etc.

I wish it came with the battery.
I don't have much to say here. It's a great portable option, gets the job done and has multiple soldering tips you can use. Because it's portable, I can take it outside and not have to worry about ventilating fumes, but I had to actually go to Home Depot and buy the battery I needed for this. Ultimately I ended up using the plug on the back to just plug it into the wall with an AC adapter that fit and was the right voltage for my first tests, because I had no idea what battery to get.I can recommend it, but even if it costs a little more I think they should package the battery with it.
