It supports 4k 60 hz. I was confused about buying this since no one mentioned whether it supported 4K. I have a Macbook Air 2017 and a 4k display. At first I thought the cable wasn't working properly since my display showed 1080p 30 hz. Even the max scaling like 3360X1890 was shown at 30 hz. The tech specs of my system showed that it supports 4k at 60hz so I thought maybe it's the cable's fault or it's apple marketing gimmick, not just that, 3360X1890 resolution had stutters just by moving open windows or minimizing them, I had other applications running but it still didnt explain things, my system was stressing a lot...took me a bit of research to recall that apple had this weird fractional resolution thing so whatever resolution the system is at, the physical resolution is 2x that. So basically 1080p 30 hz is 4k 60 and since it's fractional scaling I was able to push beyond the display's limit of 4k...by going 3360X1890 at 30...I was scaling my display to 6k or near 7k at 60 which caused the stutter. Didn't realise this until I took screenshots of my desktop. Gotta love how apple complicates things.Attached pictures to show the scaling. The left is screen resolution @ 3360X1890 and the right is screen resolution @ 1920x1080. Actual size is 2x the set resolutionTL;DR - Supports 4k at 60 but apple being apple shows it as 1080p at 30..why? cuz, Apple...also retina display as they call it.

Friends - I wanted my VU LCD TV which is 5 years old to work as smart tv; As I still love my TV due to its sheer Zero issue performance. Then, I tried connecting my MacBook with my LCD TV in order to surf and see online content using my TV;s HDMI port. I researched online and found that I need a display port connector to HDMI adaptor alongwith HDMI cable. Reached my favorite online shopping destination, i.e. Amazon India. Way above price than this one with absolutely no guarantee of product return in case if it doesn't work or simply, is not compatible.All those concerns/apprehensions were put to the rest in first 10 minutes I spent with this amazing product. Cable and adapter quality is as great as an apple product accessory should be. It looks great, feel premium, its brass connectors and its shine, oh - marvelous. within minutes what I saw was sheer High Definition pleasure. I was able to expand my MacBook screen on my LCD TV. Immediately, my wife took over the MacBook and had wonderful time watching her favorite online content on YouTube. As a customer, she was delighted and therefore I am. Great products @ Amazon, reliable reviews and a never ending desire to wish more! And btw, that very MacBook was also bought from Amazon. :)

it works good, No issues after 4 years

Just received the adapter cable and it fits perfectly in the dp port on my MBP 15 early 2011 model. The display quality is good on my fullhd 40" TV Though text a bit not very sharp, but ok. Audio through hdmi works. Overall quality product. The earlier cable i had ordered had to he returned of a different make. Then i bought this one and it fits perfectly. Also quality appears to be excellent. Though its only a few hours now from morning delivery but the adapter cable doing well. I have heard many reviews that adapter had stopped working after one month or so. So will keep my fingures crossed. Will check if it works beyond one month. And if it does its good. I am usingy fhd tv as the primary monitor and have got my dell venue 8 pro, macbook and android phone to this tv and use this huge fhd display as my main monitor. With windows the tv gives crisp quality text and display. Android rocks. Mac text a bit problem but gr8. Overall all products from amazon and all working fine so far.After three months still cable working fine.

With this new cable, only 60Hz is supported at 1440p on my 165Hz monitor. Using the cable that came with the monitor however brings back 165Hz. That means this cable is at fault. I'd recommend not purchasing if you have a high refresh rate monitor.

This is a premium quality awesome product. Very happy with packaging, delivery and after purchase use.Using it to connect Android TV to MacBook Air. Never had to look back again after connecting once. The gold finish on connectors is very fine quality and looks good. Very sturdy metal has been used so no chance of damage.I was a bit hesitant to buy this after reading one of the reviews here which said some blue stuff was leaking from the connector after a few days of using but I can confidently say that is either for some other product or a false review.

Bought a Cablesson HDMI to Mini Displayport cable about 18 months ago to connect my 2010 Macbook Pro to my Sony HD TV for playing a slide show/iMovie presentation at a family gathering. It never worked. Static on the image, no audio, just rubbish. My mistake is that I thought it was a config issue and that the Macbook was at fault. Silly me.On purchasing an external monitor for my work laptop last week I thought i'd try linking it to my Macbook to the new monitor too. Same crappy image. On a whim (and for the sake of a fiver) I decided to try the BlueRigger adaptor. Ordered on Saturday, delivered on Sunday. Plugged one end into the HDMI cable that came with my monitor and the other into my Macbook. Worked perfectly first time (after fiddling a bit with the colour on the monitor). Having had success with the monitor, I moved on to trying the Macbook with my TV again. Hey presto, worked perfectly. Crystal clear image and audio coming out of the TV's speakers. Perfect.I only wish I'd known what to expect when I got the original cable. It would have gone straight back to Amazon. Too late now I guess.
