Q: I ordered these as stated "rear lights". the wires are so short it like they are for the front of the truck. anyone else have this issue?

Yes I had same problem I just end up splicing in my own wire with new connections

Q: Instructions says to connect to battery, however i see some people saying not to, what should i do?

You can connect to the battery, (I have in a couple of circumstances), but your rocker switch light will be on all the time, and your light will be able to be on even when your key is off, (which in a couple of circumstances is what I wanted). You can go into the back of your fuse block or tap into a light wire that will allow your bar to go off when the key is off. Up to you. Hope this helps.

Q: Will this reach up to my roof rack?

Depends on how you wire it. (Battery location to roof rack) I extended my wires with a double insulated (4 wire inside) so I could use 1 wire for both lights on my set up. A clean single wired look
